ATTENTION ALL USERS
Parts of the site will be going offline, including the forum and adoptables, within the next 24 hours for a server move. Hosted sites may also go offline during this time. Some features may not work correctly after the move. However, I'll keep Floatzel.Net domain associated with the old server as long as I can, but once the databases go, the forum is getting shut down (so new posts aren't useless).

Because I have to run the VPS myself (with assistance from KingOfKYA), this may prove to be somewhat challenging. For example, I accidentally blocked several pages by putting permissions in the wrong configuration file. I've got a lot of UNIX and Linux to learn before I can use SSH (a remote terminal) effectively.

So when will the website be closing and for how long?

As soon as I get FTP setup on the new server, files will start being copied. Once that's done, the forum is being closed until I get it up and running on the new server.

Also as a side note if we can get mysql to sync between old and new server down time will be a few seconds.

Has the site move happened yet? I haven't noticed any huge differences.

Not yet. We're still waiting for a good time to be able to test everything first. The test move of the forum failed so it might be a little bit longer.

Predicted closure date: December 27, 2009.

The main site may be down only for a couple minutes at minimum, but parts of the site may take several hours, if not days, to resume to normal. The forum will be down the longest, due to the software upgrade.

I'd also like moderators to visit the moderators only board. There is an important beta testing discussion regarding vBulletin.

Isn't the brawl tourney near the 27th? Oh well.

The Brawl tourney is the very first thing occuring after the move. It might be anywhere from the 29th to the 3rd.
