Hyperkin earlier made the FC-Mobile, an NES portable. It was crap. Now Hyperkin (Yobo just advertises and brands Hyperkin products) is releasing the FC16 (16 standing for "16 bit", for the Super Nintendo), a Super Nintendo Portable.

The FC-16 doesn't use Super Nintendo technology, but rather SNOAC (Super Nintendo on a Chip) technology, the same technology used in the FC-Twin. A friend of mine in California works at Hyperkin, and he says this product is good, and is 99% compatible with all Super Nintendo games. Have any of you guys bought this yet? Is it any good?

And for kiddies that are wondering, yes, this is legal.

Why does that look so amazing? I need to get myself one of those.

This may be the first good Yobo-branded product. Some of Yobo's own products smell like garbage, probably cheap Chinese plastic made from trash.

Looks a bit... chunky and plasticy...

I think I'm happy just playing some of those games on VC since I don't have any SNES games.

I prefer to buy an actual SNES and buy games in bulk. Easier for me that way, and it's original hardware too! I have to admit though, when I used Virtual Console 2-3 years ago it introduced me to a bunch of great SNES and Turbografx-16 games.

As for the build quality, I'm sure it's decent. No worse then the DS Lite (Maybe a little worse - this is designed to be a cost effective cheaply made product, typical to Chinese clone hardware.)

That's why I want to buy this:

It lets you use real SNES controllers on GameCube and Wii, mostly for playing Virtual Console games, but it looks like it might also work with Game Boy Player on GameCube. You can also use it with Pokémon Rumble.

Why buy that when you can just buy a real SNES?
