Remember in Blue/Red/Yellow when the save times were 3 seconds at the most?
Ahh... the good ol' days.

then the save times got progressively longer until...

Platinum, where switching one pokemon causes save times to go to 30 seconds at least

This is just wrong

That's because back in the old days when you had to switch boxes you had to save.

Switching boxes saving cause FAIL in G/S/C -
Saving... Don't turn off the po- *turns off*
Clones!

In Gen 4, when your boxes change it takes longer to save afterwards. If you don't change your boxes or catch anything, it'll be quicker.

Yeah, saving in between boxes is annoying in GSC.

Waiting for 30 seconds to save the data is nothing compared to having to restart the game every time.

Platinum after you switch boxes or move pokemon.

"Saving a lot of data..."

All I did was switch leads though. AAAHG! ;w;

In RSE, the game started saving twice: the normal save and a backup save. That way, data wouldn't be corrupted. HeartGold and SoulSilver got rid of "Saving a lot of data", though.

Another instance of nostagia with Hg/Ss! Better save times!

Course you'd expect this more from Platinum, but things didn't change THAT much in that regard.

Maybe the fifth generation will have some sort of save device that lets it save as fast as a computer: a few milliseconds.

How does it save faster though? If it still uses boxes...
