Yes, it's real. Basically a New 3DS XL without the 3D and a rearranged hardware layout.

I'm actually thinking that it could make for a decent replacement for my 3DS XL which isn't in perfect shape these days.

Funnily enough, this is probably going to be the Game Boy Micro of the 3DS, except that it can run everything the New 3DS did.

Anyone else going to get it?

It looks really slick, and I'd definitely get it if I hadn't already sprung for the regular-sized New 3DS at Black Friday last year.

There enough hardware revisions for the 3DS line yet?

3DS, 3DS XL, New 3DS, New 3DS XL, 2DS, 2DS XL.

Find it odd they are doing this, you'd think they'd want to focus on Switch production since they are still impossible to find anywhere, and all the advertising they have been doing for Mario Kart 8 DX isn't helping.

Yes it reminds me of the GameBoy Micro though, looks pretty nice and probably the last hurrah for the line.

I suppose this technically happened with the original 2DS but I love how we've gotten to the point where "3DS" is not actually part of the long, long name of the descendant of the 3DS.

Also I like the look of these, if I hadn't just replaced my 3DS a few months ago I'd probably be going head-first after one of these.
