Nintendo has finally heard the pleas of fans and will be bringing the regular-sized New 3DS to North America as part of an Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer bundle. The bundle, which includes a digital copy of the game, two faceplates, and an amiibo card will be available on Friday, September 25, 2015, and retail for 220 US Dollars.

The bundle will not include a power adapter.

Well it's good to see that we will be getting that over here for those who enjoyed the 3DS better then the 3DSxl in my case the larger size and the rounded edges makes it easier for me to play on then the 3DS.

At this point I've basically given up trying to tell the different species of 3DS apart. I'll just be keeping my little red one until the potentiometers fall out ._.

Design looks pretty cool, though, and the faceplate concept seems interesting. Semi-barely related, anyone know if it'd be possible and/or not completely stupid to essentially create my own 3DS shell and paint it with some design of my own? I don't wood shop very well but it might be an interesting project to try in the distant future.

Considering this upcoming New 3DS has interchangeable faceplates, it might be best to simply get one and paint the faceplates as desired. Or you could do the same with your current system.

Ugh.

Faceplates, or better battery life and a "standard" almost 5" display... (Yeah, I'm spoiled by modern smartphone display sizes...)

The XL size is the new normal if you ask me.
