The latest in the line of Mystery Dungeon games has been announced for the 3DS. Very few details regarding the game were given, but the games are set to be released in Autumn 2015 for Japan, Winter 2015 for the United States, and early 2016 for the European countries.

Discuss!

If this is a proper entry with the art style of Gates to Infinity, the content of Explorers of Sky, and an excellent story to boot, then you can count me as excited.

If this is another stupid freemium game, then that junk can stay out of my way.

This game has strong hints of going retail judging from the wording used in the pricing for the game in the Japanese site

It'd probably be full retail, in both boxed and digital formats

Wow, that's not that much to go on. Well, I can expect it to have some sort of DLC dungeon like Gates to Infinity had. I'm hoping the good features of that game carry over and the bad reverted back to what worked well. Considering the series I'm thinking it'll be retail, but on the off chance that it is freemium then one of my favorite series will have officially died... Ever so tragic.

So they've been reduced to the Super Mario naming conventions, have they?

I've wanted to get into PMD for a while (I've played like . . . up to the title screen of EoS since I got it in January) and this might be a good excuse to do so.

Update! With the Nintendo Direct in Japan, we got some more information about the games PLUS a little footage.

Information in the trailer is as follows:
  • All 720 revealed Pokémon will be making an appearance in this game.
  • Starter choices, unlike with Gates to Infinity, includes every starter from each Gen, plus Pikachu and Riolu.
  • Super Mystery Dungeon keeps the graphics used in Gates to Infinity.
  • The Japanese release date is set at September 17th, 2015.
  • The story's emphasis appears to be set greatly on Legendary Pokémon, with clips being provided for many of them, including Entei, Kyogre, the legendary birds, Lugia, Zekrom, Dialga, Lati@s, Reshiram, Deoxys, and Rayquaza,

So, from the looks of things, this will be a full title does away with Gates to Infinity's limitations. With that in mind, discuss!
