You've heard of the nightmarish Nuzlocke, Egglocke, and Wonderlocke challenge. But here's a challenge that can drive any person to the brink of insanity. I present....the Shiny Challenge!

Rules

• You must get a shiny starter Pokémon
• Every time you enter a new Route or Cave, you can NOT proceed until you have caught a shiny Pokémon. (this only applies once you are able to get Poke Balls) Catching more than one is great too, but good luck doing that.
• Towns or buildings that contain wild Pokémon do not count. You do not need to catch a shiny Pokémon in these locations.
• If you accidentally kill or run away from a shiny Pokémon, you must look for another one and catch it.
• You may still catch regular Pokémon and use them for HM slaves, but your team should consist of only shiny Pokémon.
• Pokémon that are deliberately made shiny like the red Gyarados do NOT count.

You win if you beat the Elite Four before the timer maxes out.

This is the worst thing I have ever heard of. And perhaps the saddest thing about it is that I'm tempted to try it. But I could never follow through with it. XP

Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeah, it's going to take you at least a week of constant soft resetting just to get your starter.

And if you knew the RNG stuff, you cant use it

That's insane, and what's even scarier is that you can totally make it harder for yourself by getting rid of the "towns and buildings" clause and/or the HM slave clause.
