We now know that XY can be patched by a download even with the game itself unchanged.

The next patch will fix the Luminose City saving bug.

If there are further patches, what would you like to see it do? Maybe fixing performance issues is a very good thing for them to start.

Yes, they definitely should fix the performance during battles, particularly when there are multiple Pokémon on-screen at once. I have no idea how bad things get when using the 3D, though, but I've heard it's pretty bad.

A few other small things they should patch:

  • When it downloads random passersby from the Internet, they should not count towards your statistics...nor should they show as "passersby." As far as I know, there's no way to disable this without also disabling local passersby.
  • Head It Unlimited maxes out at 999 when playing, but you can get a higher score by adding your combo bonus. It should be patched to allow the in-game maximum to be greater than 999 (perhaps 9,999 or 99,999).
  • Maybe they should add something to make IVs not matter over Wi-Fi

Not directly a patch for this game, but they should update Pokédex 3D Pro!

Somehow I think that is intended.

While they are working on Luminose City, it'd be nice if they can find a way to fix the horrible camera+controls.

My only guess is so people don't feel forever alone or something. But really, did they NEED to count on the online players in the stats? I've "passed" 4,502 people. Apart from about twenty (See? Now I have no idea.) people I actually passed, the rest were folks it decided to download when I was trading or battling.

Makes you wonder whether there will be a switch for exactly this, with it defaulting to on...

I dont mind the random people in the passby thing. (too me there helpful as they send me O-powers) But ya in certin horde battles the game does lag a little.

Bah, I don't like the internet passerby thing at all! I can't even select 1 person without the entire roster refreshing and new people coming in. It's like a gigantic room. Terrible!

Edit: Twas on the camera angling in that darn city. There was something else I was gonna add here, but I forgot. :/

While they're at it, I hope "Stereo = Mono" gets fixed, too. The only way to get more than mono output is to set your system's audio output to Surround - Stereo, for some reason, behaves like Mono in Pokémon X and Y.

Wait, seriously? I haven't even noticed that because I've been playing using either the built-in speakers or an external mono speaker, but I haven't played with headphones yet.

My 3DS was set to Stereo because I usually don't bother with surround audio since the quality takes a hit in some games and the music player.

Then I noticed everything sounded centred and flat.

Then I backed out to the HOME Menu, and yep, I'm still in Stereo mode.

I went to switch audio output to Surround, and restarted the game. Now the game is using the speakers correctly, then I started the adventure for real.

Makes me wonder what went wrong with XY... It's a bit funny how the only games with no performance issues were things in the third gen and fifth gen.

I just realized my 3DS was already set to surround, so it was already in stereo; I just had the 3DS Sound music app set to stereo internally. (I still wonder who the heck would ever want 3DS Sound in surround. Everything sounds mucky.)

Found another minor bug: Perform a Wonder Trade. After that, if you perform a Wonder Trade again without backing out of the menu, the game won't be able to get the current system time for saving. The result? The time for saves is stuck at the time you first initiated the trade.

Oh yeah, I noticed this too and had no idea whether it was intentional or a bug. I'll go with it being a bug.

Well...

A medal
Outgoing A Medal commemorating the extraordinary human dramas of encountering 10,000 fellow players.

It's intentional, most likely.

Though, a part of me wants to make it 1,000,000, but that would inconvenience players with no (reliable) Internet access...

For some odd reason if Vivillon is in the Friend Safari and you encounter it, the icon still stays as the blank Pokeball. It's minor, but I hope it gets fixed. I've ran into that Safari too many times thinking I'd find something else.
