Edit: Download the updated patch from the eShop. It prevents these save troubles from happening in Lumiose City.



Well, that's it, we've got our first critical bug: the outside areas in Lumiose City. If you save and reload, it's possible to be stuck inside a taxicab (their locations are reset upon loading), freezing the game and forcing a file deletion.

Second bug: It's possible to get stuck in a light post in Lumiose City while skating around. If this happens, you must either use Fly or reset the game. Saving will cause the same problem as above.

So, what do we do while we wait for this to be patched? Exactly as it says in the thread title: do not save outside in Lumiose City! Also, save often when interacting with Lumiose City. This may seem contradictory to not saving outside, but just save inside or beyond the city limits.

I seriously hope this bug gets patched soon.

I read something in the comments on a Youtube video about this. Not sure if it works but aparently if you remove the SD card and try and reboot the game, the game might work again.

I posted this in another thread, but don't save next to a car either. It will freeze your game.

Ouch. Good thing I've never happened to save in Lumiose City at all.

I saved and ran into a streetlight but nothing happened to me. I guess I was just lucky, but I won't push it.

Ahhh I was just about to make a thread about this! Thanks Kitty~ I'd be downright heartbroken if something like this happened. I made too much of connection with my pokemon! ;~;

If there would be such a thing as actually getting stuck like this, I'd advise to not wipe the save file if you can be patient. Try to contact Nintendo support and they might help (especially if it's a physical copy - send the card in)

I think early Japanese copies of Diamond and Pearl had a very bad bug as serious as this one, and that one got fixed in international and later copies, and there was probably even a service to get this fixed (by mailing/sending them in?).

Well i saved outside the streets in the city, but never rebooted the bad, good i came to check in to forum to see this so i can avoid this.

I need to find a way to connect to wifi to download this patch. >_<

To be absolutely specific, the bug occurs if you save while a taxi is on the screen. When you try loading the game, it crashes because it's trying to put the taxi back on screen.

Oh, sweet. They're being quite diligent about this.

And don't worry, Reun. You can just download it the next time you get on Wi-Fi. Just be sure not to save in the city until then.

Might want to update this sticky's title since the patch is out. "DOWNLOAD PATCH IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT SAVE DATA LOSS", anyone?

Huh, I only knew about the glitch when I read the patch notes. According to the notes though, not ALL games had the glitch. I guess I was one of them?
