It's time for another episode of "Yoshi revives an old topic in an attempt to squeeze some more activity on the forum."

This topic is for talking about cars and driving and whatnot. Here you can talk about your car, cars you want, or just share stories about idiot drivers you've seen.

I'll start this off by talking about my ride, a 1994 Chevy Astro EXT cargo van. It's got a 4.3L V6 engine, automatic transmission, rear-wheel drive, over 153,000 miles on it, and gets about 16-18 MPG (can get 19-20 if I drive slower to keep the engine RPMs down).

We've had this van since it was new. It actually used to be my father's work truck, but later when they were being replaced by the company he bought it for himself. After I got my license it was given to me to drive. It's fun to drive it in here in the desert during the summer since it doesn't have A/C in it (the components were damaged in an accident a few years ago). Despite it's beat-up appearance though, it's actually a very reliable vehicle. I also love the fact it's tall so I can see over all the cars.

Here it is. Yes the front does look a little funky and yes it has some paint chips, but look shiny wheels. Everything is better with shiny!

I have a 86 Nissan pickup that's really starting to show its age. It was my parents first vechicle and now it's my favorite car to drive. I'll add pictures and more details here when I get home. I love the fact it sits pretty high but I don't have to sacrifice moblility and turn radius for such. Oh and comes with the best anti-theft device a stick shift.

I have a 1990 Buick Skylark

I drive a 2003 Acura MDX. I don't have pictures yet, but I'm surprised how well my car works since it has well over 150,000 miles. (It used to be the family car before my dad gave it to me as a birthday present )

When I first got my car I had to remove all the religious stickers and then the week after I got my license the previous owner died.

I've got a 97 VW Golf 3 4x4.. Really nice car actually 1.8 liter 112 Hp, Works really well on the roads we have over here. Could be roomier tho.

Glad you guys have something remotely better on burning gas than I've got. I drive a '97 Ford F-150. VERY much used. I'm seriously thinking of trading it in for something better on gas and with more space. This truck... It sucks. I won't get much, but I know it'll get more than scraping it as scrape metal.

Edit: Predicting the transmission will go bad in another year or so.

My dad and I have been trying to find something to buy for me and fix up over the next year, so I have something to drive when I get my permit. The long list of cars that we've looked at... an '86 Toyota Supra, '95 BMW 525i Touring, '86 Toyota Corolla GT-S (AE86), '87 Mazda RX-7, '87 VW Scirocco, '96 Dodge Stealth, and a '95 Mitsubishi 3000GT. The mind of a 15-year-old car enthusiast...

Actually, my dad and I have already decided on something to get. A 1990 Mazda RX-7 convertible. Surprising find, actually, only 78,000 miles and the owner is selling it underpriced. Pictures from the listing below.

My car is a 2004 Chrysler Concorde. It has about 90,000 km on it and it looks still like it's brand new. Here's a few pics of it since I don't have pics of mine, I found a few with the same colour and interior as my own.

So it's sort of now official, me and my dad just bought a Salvage 1999 Subaru Legacy GT we need to fix up. At least the engine works fine though.

I drive a 1993 Dodge Shadow 2 door (2.2L 93HP 3-Speed Automatic) with 151,000 miles at the moment.

I get about 23mpg combined with it, which isn't that good considering the overall size of the car, which is quite small. I think it has to do with it being heavy (old car with steel panels) and underpowered.

I got it from a lady that goes to my old church, and she sold it to me for 300 dollars, even though it bluebooks for $1200. I chalk it up to her being a nice woman. She even told me that if I sold it, to not take anything less than a thousand. God bless this woman.

I've had it since 143,000 miles and haven't had any significant problems other than needing to change the spark plugs and thermostat at one point, along with a slow coolant and oil leak. I am going to be getting some repairs done to it in a couple of days though, as I start a job as a delivery person on Friday, and want my car to be in pretty good shape if I can help it. Looks like a new radiator and valve cover gasket along with new hoses to fix the leaks are what's needed.

Hopefully I will have this car for a long while though, I've become quite attached to it in the year I've had it.

Yesterday I bought a 1987 Chevy Cavalier coupe from my dad's neighbour for $300. It's in pristine condition, rust-free with no more than a small layer of dust, and works well. It's four cylinder, the brakes will need a tiny bit of work, I'll be getting some better tires, but otherwise it's great.
It's quite good on gas, but I only need to use it once or twice a week anyways. It's red, so I hope to put some white racing stripes on it similar to this, and I'll get a personalized plate that says PKMNPRO because I'm super cool.

It basically looks exactly like this (same colour) except for it isn't a convertible, which is great.

Considering how you live in Canada it's a good thing it isn't a convertible.

Exactly, plus I have super long hair, and I don't want it to go crazy in the wind, because it bothers me to no end. I wouldn't have bought it if it were a convertible, because rag-tops would have to be stored for the winter, whereas I'm hoping to use this one all year round.

Reminds me how before I was born my dad was given a convertible similar to that as a brief rental and he put the roof down right in the middle of February in below freezing weather.
