Following Satoru Iwata's revelation via Pokémon Direct, leaked CoroCoro Scans have revealed the official artwork, as well as physical data regarding the mascots of Pokémon X and Y:

It is also worthy of note that the Japanese logos of Pokémon X and Y appear to contain a stylized image of DNA, lending credence to the theory that the titles will have some connection to the X and Y chromosomes found in human DNA.

Additionally, the leak revealed that five Genesect will appear in Extremespeed Genesect, with four regular species holding different drives, and the Red Genesect being the leader of the group. Furthermore, the Red Genesect will make its debut in the upcoming "Episode N" Arc, this being the first time the anime directly impacts the events of a movie since Mewtwo Strikes Back.

Ooh, lookin' sweet. I wonder if this means we're going to be looking over leaked CoroCoro scans again. If they're smart, though, they'll post stuff online first.

You know it's really starting to annoy me how Japan has changed it's logo to such a cool one but we still have the same one we've had since 1997.

They've never really had a specific logo for writing "Pocket Monsters." It's just a stylistic thing they've messed with on each game. Instead, what's that yellow and blue thing in the upper-left corner? Yes, they have the same logo there; they just don't use it prominently on products, more as a company branding for copyrights.

Also, I just noticed the small DNA strand in the game logos. Yep, X and Y are definitely chromosomes. (It would've helped if I didn't miss the text right above it.)

5 Genesects... woah. And as for the Japanese logos, they just look damn awesome.

It seems the games deal heavily with genetics, and both the legendary monsters are ancient and unique. We might be dealing with a game in which Pokémon are generically enhanced, or a Pokémon is freshly made out of DNA. Perhaps it is Z.

That's what I figured.

Didn't they already try that with Mewtwo, Deoxys, and Genesect, though?

Mewtwo, perhaps, except that he was created from Mew's cells, something that existed already. Deoxys is an alien and Genesect is a machine. What I mean is that perhaps they are trying to create something out of nothing. Of course, the speculation around DNA can take us back in time; the story revolves around tracing back the ancient origins of Pokémon, or maybe pre-evolved Pokémon.
