An RPG called Foto Fighter, being made by Konami, has been announced for a January 2010 release. This game is a DSi ONLY game (not a DSiWare release either, mind you) and it takes advantage of the DSi Camera, as the title suggests.

The game's color-shape recognition program allows you to convert images your DSi Camera is focused on into one of 120 possible monsters. From there, you can control them in a Dragon Quest/Pokemon-esque fashion, carrying up to six monsters in your team at once.

This game subtly declares that the DSi is no longer a new version of the DS, but is instead its own series of handheld.

(info from Nintendo Power issue Dec. 2009, 248)

That sounds epic. I will so be getting that!

Glad to see that the DSi wasn't a pointless purchase too, I almost didn't buy it, considering I already have a DSlite but this makes me glad that I did.

Now my DSi can be something other than a replacement for my Lite (the hinge is completely screwed). DSiWare's generally a bit rubbish, but a full game could be quite good!

I'll still hold off on a DSi until a DSi exclusive Mario/Pokémon game that interests me comes out.

Ya but it's only an exclusive because it uses the camera I doubt this means we'll get future games exclusive to the DSi except for DSi ware of course.

Agreed. There is no purpose for anything to be DSi exclusive unless it makes huge usage of the camera (such as this game), SD card, or extended memory.

$150!? It was released here at £150, which (according to XE) is $250! I guess we got a bad deal then.
