Technology → The amount of VC++ redists you have to install is crazy

So many versions of them installed on my computer, and I have no idea whether any one of them have problems! I noticed something wrong when I keep failing to start a program that used to work on the new laptop compared to the desktop - it relies on a version of VC++ that I forgot but isn't 2010 since the NVIDIA demo wasn't produced in the Windows 7 era.

Visual C++ Redistributables, or my source of headaches this time. Got any trouble with these pesky redists?

Every program needs a different version. Ever heard of dependency hell? Just don't remove any of them and you won't have it.

I think mine's more of a "I need to reinstall the version provided from Microsoft all over again", since uninstalling every one of them and reinstalling the official redistributables fixed the problem.

Dependencies are one thing. What's worse is... having a non-functional version.
