To complement Pokédex 3D Pro on the 3DS and vouch for why many Pokédexes have been removed from iTunes and Google Play, an official Pokédex app (Pokédex for iOS or ポケモン図鑑 for iOS) has recently been released in the United States and Japan only for the iOS. The app retails for $2 or 170 yen, which comes with only the Unova region. Each additional region costs $6 or 500 yen, so the full app costs $26 or 2170 yen.

The iPad version takes advantage of the larger screen to display more information at a give time, while the iPod Touch and iPhone versions, which offer a more compact view. Both versions appear to use the same models as Pokédex 3D Pro.

Yeah, even if I had an iOS device, I wouldn't pay that price. I'm gonna stick with Pokédex 3D Pro.

Wow complete rip off, a simple internet search can get the desired information. One thing I will say however is that the design of the app pretty nice.

Huge waste of money. I can't see anyone paying that price...

You forget that the iPhone/iPod/iPad are bought by people who don't care about what is or is not a waste of money. Plus, this is Japan we're talking about, who are the most avid Pokémon fans on the planet, so I think they would shell out ~2000 Yen just for the app if they had one of the Apple products listed above.

Expensive battery killer. While it would be nice to have a Pokédex on hand, it's just too much money. Especially with all the random in-app purchases it requires (Probably to ward off all the illegal app installers.) That's the reason I didn't get 3D Dex Pro, I don't have the money for it and I'm sure I could find a cheaper resource with more information.

The only thing that makes this worse than Pokédex 3D Pro is that it's for iOS. I do compliment it on design, though. It's all pretty and stuff. (And what's with the Pokémon QR code things? Is it promoting the other paid Pokédex application? Gen VI fundraising.)

Hm, I can't find any information on the official site about the purpose of that.

Well, true that.

WHile the single Unova region price isn't the worst thing on the planet, buying a single region extra is a complete rip-off.

I do like the layout, though.

Why should I get that when I have Bulbapedia for free?

Yes, I do have an iPhone, but no, I wouldn't pay that amount of money to get this app. In fact, I wouldn't get it unless it was free, since free websites are abundant on the web.

Steep price, eh?
I would've been okay with it if it was cheaper to unlock, but damn $26?!

I'm good with my third party free pokedex that can link to various sites as well.

Hey, update! It's out in the United States, and apparently it was released on the 10th, right after the Japanese one.

How much? Same price as Japan.

I'm suprised this was released on iOS in the first place tbh, but those prices for extra regions need to be put down.
It's £1.49 for the app itself and then £3.99 for extra ones in England.
