Technology → The case of my external disk seems to have came loose

I have a bad feeling that the external disk drive won't make it by the end of next year. The drive is still functional, though. I can see the insides of the disk drive, and I'm pretty sure all it takes at this point is a good drop to the floor before I see its internals spilled all over.

Should I be worried? (If this dies, I'll have a 32 GB flash drive to tide me over, but it just barely fits in all my personal data at this point. I have a lot of photos, music, and video.)

*starts thinking about converting the disk drive in his dead desktop to an external*

I'd suggest getting a new enclosure for your hard drive if you still want to keep it external.

Um, the one I'm using isn't a converted drive.

Oh. Then how would you intend to use it internally?

Beats me when it's a WD Passport.
