Pokémon's great, but there are some parts that just bore you.

These are mine:
Gen 1: Saving Mr. Fuji. Loads of battles with very similar Pokémon on the way up, then a load of Rocket grunts. Boring. Though, now, after loads of playthroughs, it's generally boring the whole way through.
Gen 2: Mahogany Town Rocket Base. Each time you pass a statue you battle the SAME two grunts. And then there's a load more afterwards. And then you have to fight 3 Electrode.
Gen 3: I can't remember a lot of R/S/E as I didn't like them.
Gen 4: Climing the mountain. So many grunts, too many wrong turns to take you to dead ends, and too long overall.

The funny thing is that you often WANT to find more trainers when it comes to training your team instead of just using the Vs. Seeker over and over.

1: I didn't like Silph Co. the third time through and after.
2: I didn't like surfing through Route 40 (that's the one with the Whirl Islands, right?). Too many boring trainers with water-types.
3: While I loved diving, I didn't like the routes above the dive areas. Too many trainers!
4: Turnback Cave's trainers.

Hmm...is it general distaste for repetitive trainers?

I think so. I'm more about completing the game, THEN training my team, so lots of trainers annoy me usually.

They only do all that stuff so you can buy a game guide but I don't think they show the trainers in them.

Gen.2: The team rocket base with the.........SWITCHES *shiver* I spent 2 hours in crystal trying to figure it out (I was 9)
Gen.3: To boring in general
Gen.4: Ummmm........ To long to get up spear pillar (even with the guide)

This should be easy

Gen 2: Water routes
Gen 3: Water routes
Gen 4: Now I have to think... Having to use Rock Climb.
*looks at list* Yeah... Water routes can go die, especially the Hoenn ones... So much water T_T

I used to hate the caves like Victory Road, but now some of them are quite fun puzzles! (It did take me forever to get out of Wayward Cave without flash though...)

.....and throwing rocks at Pokemon (R/B/Y) in the Safari Zone - R/S/E had the best concept using Pokeblock to attract them rather than making them mad!

In D/P/Pt, if they get mad they have a higher catch rate, but run often.
If they're happy eating they have a smaller catch rate but won't run as often.
