Title.

I prefer the old animé, Kanto, Johto and the Orange Islands were my favourite (Johto's my favourite region)
I think the new series go off-track too much (OMG HONEY! or TEH MOO-MOO MILK NOOO!), whereas the earlier series focused more on the Pokemon Gyms/League story.
I'm not saying the newer animé is bad, I'm just saying I prefer the older animé.

No saying that a certain season was 'The Best'. That's against the rules. Just state your opinion and why. There are NO right or wrong answers.

should've done the poll by regions...in that case, Sinnoh is the best in my opinion overall (and I've been watching since Kanto), but there were great episodes in all the various series, so it's hard to say which is the best individually (like season 5 Master Quest was the best of the three Johto seasons, but that doesn't make Johto the best region, every one has its good and not-so-good episodes)...

I like the newer episodes for different reasons than I like the older ones. The newer ones have far better translations, while the older ones have nostalgic value.

But every season has filler episodes and I hate those. They are a waste of disk space, a waste of continuity, and a waste of money when bought in box sets along with good episodes.

I can certainly agree about the more accurate translations these days, but unfortunately, having read about everything that was cut from the old episodes, it's hard to feel nostalgic - it usally just makes me mad. about the box sets, yet, that's the reason I haven;t bought the Battle Dimensions Vol. 1 (I can bring myself to pay for the Spiritomb and Hippowdon episodes despite the other good ones!) ... yesterday, I happened to notice Star Trek (original series) DVD, invidiually sold with only two episodes each (and looked like new releases), which didn't seem to make much sense in the age of the box set...well, this is probably why....

The Start Trek discs aren't as bad as other certain anime I won't mention that I've seen insane overseas prices for. Who would pay four thousand yen (about $37 US) for a two-episode DVD?!

Well the original series seemed to aim for an entirely different audience.
