That's right, during today's Wii U preview the price and release were announced. It shall be released upon Sunday, November 18, 2012. There will be 2 models available, which are the Wii U Basic and the Wii U Pro. The Basic is white and has 8 GB of internal memory and costs $299.99. The Pro is black and has 32 GB of internal memory and costs $349.99. There are also links to launch/launch window's trailers viewable here: http://www.nintendo.com/wiiu?om_rid=...BQUf9$B8t5-vQz
That is all.

Well I was expecting around the $300 price for it, but I didn't think the different colors actually meant different models. Seems like they are taking the route of the 360 with a "cheap" model (like the Arcade) and a "deluxe" model (the Pro). 8 and 32GB seems fair enough if you are just saving data or small VC games, but it can quickly be filled up with full releases. However it was nice for Nintendo just to continue use standard SD cards and external USB drives for more storage, unlike the 360/PS3 which require proprietary harddrives. And as with previous Nintendo systems, keeping backward compatibility so all your controllers and games you already have are playable from the get-go is nice. I'm interested to learn about how the Deluxe Digital Promotion works and how it ties in with downloadable games/DLC. Hope to learn more about the system as we get closer to it's launch date. Also for those of you really anxious to get this, GameStop is already taking pre-orders for $50 ($25 if you are a Power Up Rewards user).
2 – blueumbreon, teamplasmaI hope I'll be able to get enough for a Wii U along with Pikmin 3 by release... Of course, I'll also have to preorder both, though... and I only have enough for a Wii U at this point... :I But other than that, I do think the price is very reasonable, and it was very smart for Nintendo to release two different versions of the console.
I don't think I'll pre-order, but I'm definitely going after the Wii U Pro. I just love the color, and it doesn't hurt to have 32 Gigs. (It would actually REALLY benefit. A LOT.) I think this is a good move for Nintendo, but I'm still not convinced that I want this yet. I will be getting it in the future, but I dunno when.
