I missed a band concert Tuesday and i missed school Monday and Tuesday. I was in so much pain! My chest and stomach were hurting and i had what felt like an unending uber cramp. Oh and i threw up too...

ANYWAYS!

My band teacher was pissed at me because i missed a band concert.
This was his speech in a summary:
"Whats wrong? Why have you been missing days? You play first clarinet. I need you. I wish i could've seen you just for the 20 mins you were performing. I've seen you work hard these 9 weeks. You know, you can do all these things, but you're missing out. Not everyone has the advantage that you do. Every time you're absent, it hurts you. I don't wanna see you go downhill like other people. I'd understand if you had a disease or something blah blah blah..."
My dad wouldn't let me go and i still haven't been to the doctor.

As a make up for missing the band concert, my band teacher wants me to organize and label the WHOLE music library. Do you guys think this is fair? At the beginning of the year he said he would give anyone who missed a concert a 2 page essay.

My school is the only performing arts school around here so it holds music for every other school. Thats more than 26 high schools and who knows how many middle schools! He said "This isnt just a one day thing. This is going to take weeks." He wants me to stay after school too and my house is an hour away from school. This other girl was supposed to be helping me but she refuses to do anything and decides to fail.

It's child labor!

You can tell your band teacher to screw himself, that's ridiculous.

That's pretty unfair.

I go to a technical school but they usually don't take stuff like that to seriously.

At my school if you're absent from gym you get a zero for the day and you are given a chance to make up one class but only after school.

Write a two-page essay (which was what you should've gotten) about how he should organize it himself and stop being a lazy you-know-what. I'm being serious. (If I wasn't busy this weekend, I would gladly help you with it.)

Yeah that was definitely unfair. You were sick you had a valid excuse for not showing up. I do like that essay idea Cat mentioned.

He's so busy though. I kinda feel bad. And if no one organizes the music, then he wont buy us more music because there's nowhere to put it.

Get a new band teacher. Big city = plenty of great band teachers.

He is an amazing teacher. It'd be hard to find a better one. He teaches me in AP music theory too
