The Microsoft conference has already gone, and you can tell the people what you liked most, etc., etc.
If you know me at all, then you know that I've been looking forward to this year:
1 – TurtwigXHalo 4 most certainly looks interesting. South Park looks impressive. That Angry Birds clone looks horrible. Most of the other games, I have no real comment about. I've already messed with Smartglass a little bit in Windows 8 as Xbox Companion, so nothing too surprising there. Internet Explorer for Xbox was to be expected, as the Wii and PS3 already had their own browsers.
EA is seems pretty meh so far. It's also kinda weird that they showed a game for FB at E3. And SimCity looks kinda fun
1 – Cat333PokémonI hate the idea that the're trying to bring everything to Facebook. It really just seems very.... ugh...
1 – Cat333Pokémon"Fubab_107 @ 2:33:29pm: Modern Middle Eastern FPS's are becoming what WWII FPS's were in like... 2006, 2007...."
This is basically how I feel when I see another FPS... It's just starting to become an overused medium like WWII was... I wouldn't even mind if we took a step back and went back to WWII...
Maybe that's why Call of Duty games no longer are based on real wars? And why are there so many war FPSes? Whatever happened to more original shooters like DOOM or Halo?
Edit: More Facebook integration...in a Madden game?! And iPhone FIFA?
1 – GalliumGrantWell, Criterion is making NFS Most Wanted 2. Great. The company that infamously ruined Hot Pursuit will now ruin another NFS line.
1 – GalliumGrantMicrosoft's conference was awful. (Not Sony 06 awful but still bad). Lack of games, Usher singing, Dance Central, more FPS with shades of brown, awful attempt at a inspiring quote and IE for Xbox. The only thing I personally liked the sound of was the South Park RPG.
EA wasn't much better. Best bit was Sim City 5. More shooters, casual games, Battlefield 3 premium, TOR taking even more from warcraft and Sim city for Facebook.
2 – Cat333Pokémon, GalliumGrantLet's see what Ubisoft pulls out. I know they do have some gems, but most folks know them for their menagerie of casual simulation and educational games and other less than impressive titles. I wonder if they'll actually do something cool.
Haha, someone swore in front of the microphone on Ubisoft's pre-broadcast!
1 – GalliumGrantWatch Dogs looks like a pretty interesting concept. I'd love to give that a try. I wonder how well it would work, notably with the cell jamming.
2 – Reuniclus, Fubab_107I am sooooooo happy to see Gears of War: Judgement, I am like literally jumping up and down with excitement, I was not expecting there to be any more to this fantastic series but to see a game about these two characters (Baird and Cole Train) to add more story to them, is just freaking fantastic~!
Then we have the other game I'm looking forward to the most: Assassins Creed 3. Oh man, I've not seen any trailers of this prior to the E3 one and I'm just even more in love with it now! The ability to run in buildings, fight and run around in the wilderness and all the new combat techniques are just great. It's good to see that each new AC games just improves upon the previous ones a ton.
Wow that's a long fangirly post... hehe sorry.
2 – GalliumGrant, Cat333PokémonSony...you really managed to rope J.K. Rowling into the Wonderbook? It's such a strange concept, especially with Harry Potter spell-casting. I have no idea how this will come out, but it's just...wow.
They sure also enjoy linking up the PS3 and Vita in their games. I can't image what Wii U system they got that idea from.
Gotta say the people demoing the games have apparently never played them before either, notably the people trying All-Stars Battle Royale.
The Sony conference: Beyond has amazing graphics, Wonderbook is absolutely terrible, and the Last Of Us is amazingly violent.
1 – Cat333PokémonNo bingo, but a lot of spaces were filled.
Card comes from here if you want to get the Nintendo one for tomorrow:
http://www.videogamer.com/features/a...ngo_cards.html
And I was right: no PS4 announcement! :3
Nintendo has been PREPARING SO MUCH to just knock EVERYONE out of the water. It's gonna be the greatest event ever ;D
2 – Cat333Pokémon, 7dewott8I think this adequately sums Sony's conference up:
7 – Reuniclus, Fubab_107, zsaberslash, 7dewott8, NismoZ, Twiggy, TurtwigXI. Am. Amazed!
To be honest, my only interest in E3 was two games: Assassin's Creed III and God of War Ascension. Both were great!
Being a captain of your own ship, shooting at other foreigner ships and jumping to those ships to start the classic assassination... something I never expected. This game continues to be better and better, especially with the very realistic graphics.
As with God of War, a complete new gameplay engine, which is noticeably faster and more engaging. The ability to change weapons while fighting, steal foes' weapons and combat with fists add to the improvements. The gore is also maximized, and again, the graphics are great. The only disappointment is its release date to be in 2013.
Overall, I am pleased with what Ubisoft and Sony presented for these two games. I really don't care about the other ones.
New Super Mario Brothers U looks promising. Although that 5th player placing blocks to "Help" the players.... Oh boy the fun I can have with that!
1 – Cat333PokémonPaper Mario: Sticker Star and Luigi's Ghost Mansion! Want, want, want!
Nintendo, TAKE MY MONEY!
1 – Fubab_107ANOTHER DANCE SESSION?! Gee, where did I see that before?
Also, I think using the Wii U GamePad for inventory screens will likely become the standard as shown in Zombi U.
Multiplayer in Luigi's Ghost Mansion? Ooh~! Edit: Oh, just another Pac-Man clone. ![]()
1 – Fubab_107MY THOUGHTS ON THE NINTENDO CONFERENCE
Pikmin 3 looks really cool. The Wii U will definitely be amazing with it. The new features in it look awesome as well. It is going to be a good one.
Really sucks that the Wii U will have to be used with another console. I thought it was another kind of controller.
CANT WAIT FOR THE 'New Super Mario Bro.s U'! It looks amazing, and there seems to be some new kind of Yoshi in it. New flying squirrel suit... and enemy? Plenty of new enemies.
Batman isn't that exciting to me. That women was annoying. I feel like they just focused on one scene.
On Scribblenauts, they didn't give much info on WHAT you do. Just that you can draw. And make stuff.
In that little scene of many games none of them spoke to me. They were all bleh.
Sing is just a cheesier version of all the other singing games, but I wouldn't mind playing it.
I will be attending the 3DS show.
Knowing myself, I will probably going to get the new mario game on August 19. New Super Mario Bro.s 2.
I AM SO GETTING THE NEW PAPER MARIO GAME!!! I have loved it since the first one came out, so I am going to get it the day it comes out. Paper Mario Sticker Star will be all I will do until I beat it.
Luigi seems to be okay, I have never played any of his solo games before, so this new one wont quite appeal to me.
Kindom of Hearts looks pretty great.
Lego City isn't that appealing either. I just don't do Legos.
Ubisoft did what? Announced that they have game? Just dance 4? Sounds awesome!!! Hopefully that one new feature they advertised isnt the only new thing. ZombiU is a bit redundant on the scale of zombie games. The scene of games actual was cool.
Nintendo Land will have all of their franchises. So you are basically going to a ride as a Mii and playing classic, but improved, games. I am kinda excited. Songs cool to play minigames of characters we all know.
They keep confusing me.
Did you hear that? It's the sound of my wallet... weeping. Weeping. My body certainly wasn't ready!

4 – Cat333Pokémon, teamplasma, Yoshi648, 7dewott8Hey, we got two bingos this time!
But seriously, no Wii U release dates? No prices?!

Updated both bingo cards. Might do the Microsoft one later.

General E3 reaction:
3 – Cat333Pokémon, LugiaDialga, GalliumGrantCastlevania: Lords of Shadow... May be fun, but eh.... not really the type of thing I was hoping for.
Edit: I don't know why, but I am absolutely not interested in Epic Mickey for the 3DS. I hope I'm not alone on this.
Edit 2: More Kingdom Hearts. Well another Plus.
Edit 3: Pokemon 3DS Pro. Finally I can see my Johto's :'D
Edit 4: (C'mon Guys) More about Digital Downloads for AAA Titles... Man I hope they keep the Hard Game copies.
Edit 5: ( ;C ) Seriously. Pimpin' Mario man... Pimpin' Karts, Gettin all the coins...
1 – Cat333PokémonAnd of course the Nintendo 3DS Software Show starts ten minutes late.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (Fall 2012) looks pretty good. It's a classic platformer and not an RPG, just like classic 2D Castlevania games. (I get the feeling the Angry Video Game Nerd would love it.)
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon (Holiday 2012, seems the title at E3 was a working title) looks pretty dang sweet! Gotta like having multiple mansions, too.
Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion sounds alright.
Paper Mario: Sticker Star (Holiday 2012)...oh man, TAKE MY MONEY NOW. Oh wait, GameStop already has my pre-order money. Looks like you need to use stickers for everything, and leveling up is different. Important stickers, like the fan, lucky cat, and faucet look like they could add a good puzzle element too.
Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance (July 31, 2012), well, Kingdom Hearts isn't one of the series I play, but it does look like a fun game for folks interested in it. At least we've got another game that'll use the Circle Pad Pro.
Scribblenauts: Unlimited looks kinda cool. Also, Nyan Cat cameo.
Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 (2012)...wait, he brings it up but doesn't say anything?
Apps, Apps, Apps!
Pokémon: Dream Radar will allow you to transfer to BW2. Sweet!
New Super Mario Bros. 2 (August 19, 2012)...you need to collect ONE MILLION coins?! This is what I think. Nice co-op too, and leaving your friend behind. ![]()

With the Scribblenauts Unlimited thing, even though I haven't watched the software showcase, I think they're taking it too far. The players already know that Scribblenauts games are never as good as they look now.
And as for NSMB2, I'm actually somewhat interested. I like coinspam.
Also, 10,000th post in Consoles & Gaming.
1 – AuraKshatriyaI didn't like in Halo 4 where whenever you kill an enemy the screen flashes white with a ton of bloom, like BAM YOU KILLED AN ENEMY... BAM YOU KILLED AN ENEMY... Too flashy and bombastically cinematographic. It's a trend I don't like in recent games and their efforts to be more sensational.
I didn't have much to say about the other games though.
|
On topic on the major e3 event, I can honestly say Sony took the show.
