Hey everyone, it's that time of year again. The Pokémon VGCs are (normally) going on this time of year, and I take it upon myself to hold one here. Since there are already set rules for the tournament, there's really no need to discuss what needs to be set in stone. So, this thread will not only be to introduce and discuss, but it will also be to sign up for it as well. This tournament takes place one month before the standard one in August, so this could be a good chance to see how your Pokémon work. Keep in mind though that this is doubles, and there's a chance that this will work a bit differently than August, which is singles.
The rules are as follows:
MAIN RULES:
Battles are conducted in a 4v4 manner double Flat Battle manner. This means that Pokémon will battle at level 50. If they are higher than level 50, they will be scaled down to level 50 BUT Pokémon lower than level 50 WILL NOT be scaled up. You may bring in a team of 6 Pokémon. On battle initiation, you will be given a glimpse of your opponent's team. You can then rearrange and choose to your liking before starting the battle. Keep it brief.
Pokémon:
The following are restrictions on teams:
Moves:
You may only use moves that have been learned through one of the following ways:
External Devices:
Players should only have Pokémon that they have raised themselves and items that they have received through normal game play. It is always the player’s responsibility to have legal Pokémon and items during the competition. That means no cheating guys. If a player suspects something of their opponent, they will both be subjected to check. If you don't comply, you will lose that match.
Match Resolution:
A player wins by knocking out his or her opponent's final Pokémon
A player who hits run will count as the loser of that game, whether selected intentionally or not.
That about covers it, typed pretty much word for word from the official rules. I don't need "maybe"s for the sign ups, so if you post something along the lines of "I might be able to, but I'm not sure" without posting something of importance to the thread, IT WILL BE DELETED. People who have signed up are as follows.

Question involving the rules: It says we can bring a team of 6 in, but are we required to do so? And if we do bring a team of 6 in, but it's 4v4, what happens to the other two Pokémon in the battle?

Okay. Since I never actually participated in a tournament in where I actually did something, where do we meet up at that time?
and lol im terrible with time. What time is that in NY? |
