I like waking up naturally a few hours before my alarm goes off and realizing I can still get a little bit more sleep. It feels amazing!
|
I never wake up before my alarm clock. Thankfully, I don't sleep through it either. Though I need to set up 2 alarms, or else I fall back asleep.
I'm heading off to Edmonton in 2 weeks. I'm so excited to go to Edmonton mall! Anybody up for an indoor amusement park? I haven't been to Edmonton for a long time. There was an amusement park inside the mall when I was in Quebec too, but this one is bigger, AND has a water park. :3
Im going to Six Flags Great Adventure for my birthday! August 4th
Also, Anyone wanna give me something? :O Lol. Also, i made a group:

So it's basically like Mall of America except in Canada.
I'll have to go to Wikipedia to see who ripped off who. EDIT: Mall of America opened ~10 years after Edmonton. I accept defeat in this battle. |
Also, back to the mall topic. Fortunately I live almost right across the Canadian/US border from MOA, but the same country as Edmonton mall. :> And I've never been to MOA mind you. :<HO. LY. ARCEUS.
Haven't draw for awhile and been lazy throughout the summer. Still have to do homework for IB. This is what I get for taking harder classes. -_-

I wish you the best of luck with that! I've got an awesome solo on Marimba in our first movement. I haven't been this much excited for marching season since freshman year, and I'm a senior now. Funny thing is, I was about to quit because it had gone downhill fast junior year, but when we lost a lot of trouble-members, the quality managed to go up, despite our numbers being halved. I LOVE being a Division III band!

We're a Division III band. But my 8th grade (marched as an 8th grader) and freshman year we were a Division II band.
|
Hm. Yeah, we're only concerned about how our band does for whether or not we qualify for the State Festival. I'm thinking it's likely we'll finally be able to get an Excellent again this year. The last time that happened was my Freshman year, then we had a dry run of nothing but "Good"s, which does not qualify us for State 8'(.

Speaking of marching band

You can identify them ahead-of-time: They lead with the left foot when the music starts.
3 – Shiny, zsaberslash, MaRcHiNg12stepOn the topic of sleep, I've recently had to habitualize (the word processor doesn't accept that as a word. Screw them, it is now.) going to bed no later than midnight, mainly because of school.
On the topic of Jaredvcxz's hobby, I started laughing uncontrollably, getting indignant, and wholeheartedly agreeing with what that picture. All at the same time.
I haven't been getting much sleep either. And it's going to be fun next week because that's band camp week. I've been going to bed past midnight every night for the past weeks (I don't know how many). Then I'm going to have to wake up early and march all day. But I'll manage it, I know I can.
But speaking of band camp, I have decided to march this year, as opposed to playing keyboards last year. I hope my band directors perfect way of teaching drill is perfect...
Well, I dislike my current school. The teachers bother me, I have hardly any friends. And the few ones I have are jackasses or people I hardly hang out with.
I'm just unhappy there.
I just wanna switch to the school I was originally going to go to. Nearly all the people I've known since first grade are there. My family used to go there and I've heard the teachers are great.
I have reasons, but I'm lost in trying to approach them about it. I get nervous and all tense when I think about it. /:
From personal experience of trying to talk to my parents and not being able to say what I was intending on saying, I know what you're going through.
I would suggest writing it down, then reading what you wrote to them. If they ask why you're doing this, tell them that if you can't get the point across otherwise. I think they'll understand.

Thanks for the advice.
We're apparently gonna go to dinner tomorrow 'cause me and my sister got Advanced on the CST. So I'll try and man up to tell them there. |
Well my day was terrible. Last night I only got 3 hours of sleep because the moon was keeping me up (Full moon = VERY BRIGHT LIGHT), then I had a fever most of the day due to my vaccination, and then I have to deal with some of the least desireable people on the forum.
It's times like these that I wish my pantry was stocked with chocolate...
I just returned back (safely) from my vacation. I had a great time with my relatives and friends, and the temporary change to the simple lifestyle was really welcome. The flight back to Dubai was a lot of fun, what with the array of new movies, TV shows and CDs that you could check out. All in all, summer 2011 rocked! <3
So, what did I miss while I was away? Hope everyone's been having a good time (unless you guys started school, which must suck I suppose
).
Went to the Carolina Panthers game vs the New York Giants! We won and Cam Newton is a beast!

A place where a bunch of random people play a certain genre of music. But the music is not guarenteed to be good music. There are also weird street venders (ie one of them was selling toe rings). Almost everyone I've seen at it was holding a beer and it was crowded.

3 – Shark, 7dewott8, ShinyA lot of people do a lot of drugs and traditional concerts too. Pretty much every indoor concert I've been to people find a way to get their drugs in and smoke up. Even when smoking inside public buildings is illegal here... Though I've been to a few REALLY small shows in really small bars and usually it doesn't happen there.
Today was the first day of marching band camp. Last year, I was in the pit (playing xylophone). But this year, I decided to march on the bass drum. Today, we went over marching basics, then went inside to practice the music itself. So, the only time I got to sit down today was at lunch. My feet hurt... I have to hand it to everyone else, it's harder than it looks!
Now for the bad. There's this annoying freshman. He plays the saxophone (which already sets me off a bit, we have too many saxes in our band program). He thinks he owns the place, he doesn't take marching seriously, and he's just a bother in general. I know I shouldn't be talking about him like this after only one day of watching him and I really hope that my attitude towards him changes. I didn't get a great first impression, is all.

Second day of Band Camp.
It went pretty well. At first, we did some ensemble things, then split into sectionals. Winds went off to do their thing and snare drums and the drumline captain (who plays the tenors) had their sectional. That left the four basses and the four pit members. Us basses are all the most musically smarterer, so we worked one on one with each member of the pit. I ended up helping my sister play her keyoard part.
Speaking of which, I am INSANELY proud of her! Just a few weeks ago, she was musically illiterate. Once we got the music, I started helping her learn her part. Now, she has almost all of the first song memorized (after only two days of band camp and another sectional this past Sunday).
After that, we had more ensemble work, then marched for the rest of the day. We have one more day of learning how to march, then Thursday is when we start to go over drill (for non-marching-bandees, we're going over the shapes we have to make on the field).
The guy who I didn't like yesterday, I still don't like him. Neither does anyone else (out of the people high up on the band ladder [talent and leadership-wise] and their friends [who are also pretty high up]). Not a good second impression.
I got home today and, like yesterday, I'm sore!I'm done talking now...

Well, LA is pretty sick! Except, i have never seen so much weed in my life. I thought walking at the venice beach pier would be nice, but man was I wrong. Soo many medical weed, hobos, hobos doing weed, and a bad smell of incense.
