I'm glad we organized all these activities for our school's Earth Week because we also got to play basketball; since we're prefects, we're supposed to help in the running of the school by carrying out regular duties during break times. However, because the younger grades went about collecting trash from the playgrounds, we could take a break and chill in the basketball court a little bit. xD

I got my progress report today too. It's my worst one yet. 2.83 GPA. Mostly due to me slacking off and not doing homework.
The thing that ticked my parents off was that they know I have more potential but I'm lazy.

It's just that the material they teach me I understand at first then they go over the same thing for 4 days. It's just so easy for me...
Anyone doing anything for Easter? We're going to my grandma's house at noon. Everyone is going to church. I'd go but I'm not interested in it and agnostic.

Ehe, I don't have my progress report but since we have online grades I know I have 6 As and 1 B. Not sure about my GPA, I think they give them to us in a few weeks, but I know it's probably over 4 because I take advanced classes and get As in them.

For Easter I'm going to my old neighbors' house..meh, not so fun really.

School days are starting to become too boring. And now I'm starting to feel more nervous as the final exams quickly approach us. Here's a break-down of all the papers which I'll be writing:

Three papers for Physics
Three papers for Chemistry
Three papers for Biology
Three papers for ICT
Two papers for Business
Two papers for Maths
Two papers for English Language
One paper for Arabic Language
One paper for Theology
One paper for English Literature

Yeah, it's a little too much. =/

o.O That's a lot of paper to write. And yeah I agree with you with school getting boring. I blame the warm weather and the fact that I am focusing on preparing myself when I graduate from high school. I find that school sometimes don't help you prepare much for living your life to the fullest.

Happy Easter everyone! I have a new laptop since the old one broke. >_< The lifetime of the laptops are usually about 3 years. Also about relating to Easter, why are there bunnies represent as Easter? What does eggs have to do with bunnies? Though I saw a toy bunny pooping jelly beans somewhere.

XD
That's what me and my family were talking about earlier.
I don't get what bunnies and eggs have to do with each other. Don't bunnies give, like, live birth or something?
My cousin was saying the jelly beans in Easter eggs are probably supposed to represent bunny droppings. o.o

I'm confused...
Anyways, Happy Easter everyone.

I shall now go sprite something easterish. =p

It is an incomplete form of IGCSE. One/Two more chapters and we will be doing the IGs. It is going to be hard this year, definitely.

I remember I once went through one of those "safari zoos" were you actually get to drive through the zoo and get to see the animals up close.

The Giraffes were the most annoying because they gathered around our car and refused to move.

And it's not like you can really pet them without feeing like you're violating them unless they bend over for you but with their long necks that's awkward too. It's actually pretty painful for them to bend their necks like that from what I heard.

Well you clearly need excersize if you're to lazy to walk down the street!

Today I'm kind of upset because I didn't get Senior Mentor which I thought I would get for sure because I'm such a good rolemodel. In the end they were looking people who are more willing to do stuff for the school though. This really angers me because I had a mentor that was really mean and would sometimes tease me, it nearly ruined my Freshmen year. Knowing my luck though. I probably will eventually become one since there are so many people unfitting to be one and Senior Mentors easily get kicked out. The weird thing is that if I was one I would have missed a Algebra 2 quiz I got a 100 on, just another day of dumb luck for me I guess.

I'm assuming you know about working out, so I have a question: how long does it take someone (on average) to develop abs? And what exercises are the best for that?

Developing abs vary from person to person. About one month of following a routine should get you some results. Chest and stomach exercises are best for those. I don't work out on my abs though, I do lots of running and cardio

I already have a four-pack but it is not very visible, so I want to develop my abs further. I would also like to have chest muscle, but given the approach of exams, I will probably not find enough time do to do that before summer.

I am currently suffering from a very strong flu; not only is my nose runny, my dry coughs are killing my throat and chest. I am taking three different medicines prescribed by my aunt (who happens to be a doctor), but my condition is not improving. If things continue like that, then I will be forced to remain absent for school - something which is good and bad during this time. =/

Focus on the structures of formal and informal letters. There is a high possibility the first question will be one of them. The question can also be about writing a newspaper article, so it is also better to get a good idea of how to write a formal-looking one. Although it is rare, yet it might happen, sometimes, the first question comes as a diary entry. My teacher said it is the easiest form since there are not many restrictions, but do understand the basic structure of it. That's all you have to know.

Aside from what Spirit said, make sure you have practiced past papers to prepare yourself. Read examination reports of the most recent exams to take note of things to avoid and achieve what the examiner truly wants. Otherwise, you will have to depend on your knowledge of English to ace the paper.

I'm gonna double post because I need to update this thread with something:

Remember when I mentioned a couple of pages ago that I was sick? Well, it turns out that I'm suffering from acute bronchitis (which is NOT caused by smoking). My nose is runny, my coughs are extremely dry/violent, my throat and chest are aching, and I am running short of breath. This disease is caused by a virus, which means that medicines will not help to cure it. I'm using painkillers, sleep-inducing tablets and Ventolin Evohaler to ease the pain a little bit, but I'm starting to lose my voice. My doctor said this is a sign of early recovery, so I REALLY hope the disease will be gone within a week. My final exams are just around the corner ._.

^ I've had that happen back in '09. And during a lecture I passed out from the most insane headache I've ever had ever. Couldn't drive for the next week or so, either. And an unconscious programmer is not a good programmer. =(

Godspeed and I hope your case doesn't last long. XD

Speaking of unpleasant tests I took a writing placement exam for college today, and the prompt happened to be about two of my favorite topics: internet and philosophy! It seriously was about internet philosophy, haha. Given that, I probably did well.

Internet philosophy? What'd you write about? O:

The topic was the internet vs. societal forgetting. The internet keeps record of our actions, preventing us from escaping prosecution for our former identities and our mistakes, while societal forgetting is the opposite environment where whenever we do something wrong, there aren't many to witness it and we don't remember it for the most part anyways. I wrote in favor of the internet because societal forgetting deters self-improvement and promotes complacency, carelessness, and ignorance.

I don't know about you guys but I'm going to petition to ban children 3-7 years old from church. Today some little kids escaped their pew and were running around the back of the church during mass.

Uhm...

Homosexuality strikes younger each year?

The bad part about all this is that there are a lot of good children in church, but the noisy ones give them a bad reputation.

I hate children like that who are always running around. ><

But what I hate even more is when their parents put them on leashes. It jsut looks cruel. It's like they're treating their children as dogs.
I remember when I was at the park, I saw this lady who had her 2 year old daughter on a leash, and the little girl would run to pick flowers, but the mother would pull her back before she could. Then she was like dragging her against her will.....

I bet you would do that to he you had an extremely hyperactive kid who'd always want to run away from you.

I'm not good at handling kids, yet for some reason they all flock to me when I'm put in charge. That's just great. I can't get any friends my own age, yet I don't even have to try with little kids.

But it's not always cruel; once, when I was in a crowded mall, I saw a woman who tied her daughter with a rope around her wrist and led her forward. I thought that looked strange, but the woman was obviously afraid of losing her child, so she took such an unusual precaution. Maybe the mother who you saw in the park had a good excuse to do that, too...

It's a win-lose situation. And I'm speaking from experience, as a person who has two younger brothers and one younger sister.

I used to be the kid who is hyper and went around places and wound up being in a leash. But then I calm down later on.

I used to feel uncomfortable around younger kids especially babies because I really don't know how to react around them, but after working in a daycare I got comfortable.

Dear members,

I'm still very new here. I'm afraid to post, really, due to the firmness of the rules, but I will try to abide by them and hopefully enjoy this site. Is this the thread where anything can be discussed, including casual pokemon talk and battle at the same time? I saw the official thread for pokemon battling and trading, but I didn't know how to reply. I like to interact with other trainers, and get to know them before I engage in a battle. I guess it's because I'm new that I'm having such a dilema. Anyway, I hope to have a good time here.

Well you don't need to be afraid to post here. We have friendly members though there are some hyper members lurking around. But don't worry, we have mods and admins who are nice and we like to have fun.

This thread is where you can talk about anything as long it follows the forum rule. So anyway, I am so excited tomorrow for the mosaic festival. It's like a fair where students sell food and artwork they make to the general public and there are performances. I will plan to help out and take pictures as well too!

No need to be scared of us. The mods are really only strict when someone breaks the rules, they don't go banning people for no reason. And us regular members are pretty welcoming too. You should fit in nice.

False lies. I don't believe such predictions and will never do; I believe that only God knows when the world will end.

This weekend my church was having a weekend-long carnival. I went today since my boy scout troop was on trash duty (Yay -.-) ansd I only saw two of my -372 friends. One was with her boyfriend, the other was with her group of friends who would have killed me if nobody else was around (You probably think I'm joking...). All in all it was a waste of my time.

But it didn't start raining cats when I finished everything on my to-do list so I can assume the world is not going to end.

I don't really have any talent that I can perform on stage. Some of the performers are really good especially the dancers and the band, but there were a few I didn't like (one of the singers sang "Baby" badly). Plus I forgot to bring my camera. :/

This weekend is pretty much chaotic for me. I have to pick between attending a boat race with my boat club or go to the AP graduation plus I am still tired from the festival. I chose the graduation and it was really fun! The performance were really good and some of the skits the seniors did was really funny. The one thing I felt bad was that I miss a chance to race with a boat and getting in tune with the outdoors. I haven't done any activities that deals with getting away from the urban life recently and I feel down lately. I really miss going outside and riding my bike because I stay indoors all day using technology. I am the type of person who likes to go outside a lot.
