Saturday's event went well. I arrived at the mall at around 6am to help out walk for diabetes. I sorted out t-shirts for the people on the tables, the drinks, and breakfast bars. It was really crowded there and at the end, I got a t-shirt.

I really need to stop procrastinating my schoolwork. I have to make a website for History Day which is due this Friday. I only finish a couple of pages and I still need to volunteer more for NHS.

The business fair ended up in a good way. My debate resolution about food security passed with more votes supporting it than votes against it. Moreover, our business project, which was a wheel of fortune, got what is like $68. After dividing the profits, I got like $17 or $18. Right now, I have a total money of approximately $38. This is still not enough to buy Pokémon White. I don't know from where I should get more money...

Today, we had a biology field trip to a hospital. We accessed several sections, including radiology, kidney dialysis, laboratory, the section of giving birth and the in-patient rooms. It was a good trip, as we saw many different things, including a man who is about to die (I am not sure if we should call this a good thing, though). The in-patient rooms were amazing, more of a castle rather than a hospital. The best thing about this trip was that we missed classes. 8)

That might be a good experience for you, it'll teach you the value of a dollar as well. I believe you'll do fine if you be nice and do what the boss says.

I hope you're right. I'm not the rebellious type so I tend to do what I'm told...I just hope I have a good boss...and not one of those mean employers who are jerks..

Now, after the edits, this also explains my situation in the business fair. All in all, it was memorable day.

Yeah. Considering I'm a person who doesn't accept being mistreated easily, I wouldn't want to have a bossy employer. I like to retain my dignity and my rights if I'm right.

Later on this afternoon I have a job interview at Borders book store and like Cyrus I've never had a job before either which makes my nervousness all the worse. Last week when I got my work permit from my counselor at school he told me his best friend was looking to hire a few new employees at his store and to my luck thank god I got to meet him, he's a really nice guy but I don't know what to say at my interview later-on.
Any tips?

I can't give out any tips since we don't really do the interview thing for some reason here.

Anyway I'm also trying for a job this month. My friend is trying to get me to work with him since they have an opening so all I need to do is hand in my resume and see how things go from there.

Coincidentally, I also turn 16 this summer, specifically in June. I'm really waiting to be 18, the magical number which allows you to drive, be free and join college. However, at the same time, I'm not too excited about bearing more responsibility as I grow up, but I guess that's how life goes.

I've been eligible to drive for two years, but I'm not getting my liscense until next summer. At this time, my parents can't afford to have me on their insurance.

On a side note, insurance companies are extortion clinics run by the mafia. Fact.

I used to work as a tutor in my middle school for my former avid teacher in my 9th and 10th grade, but I stop working since my schoolwork is pretty heavy that year and I did not like my math teacher working alongside with me. >_<

The funny about being 16-18 is that you are growing up in physical and emotional way Things that once make sense for you back then, doesn't makes sense in this stage. You start to question what type of person you want to be and how are you going to fit in society. For a few months, I was in a mental breakdown finding what to do when I grew up. I even started to think like Holden Caulfield and thinking the things I learned were useless and I challenge them. It's not like I plan to drop out high school, but I want to expose the world and experience it by influencing people. School doesn't teach you everything and eventually you will be on your own spiritual trip trying to figure yourself and deciding what to do to becoming the person you want to be.

Anyway about my thoughts, I was working on a website and I use weebly to create it for National History Day. And I finally finish it. The research was the hardest part and it's a lot of work. I find working on a website fun and refreshing from posters.

Yesterday I went to my local junk/bargain store for some danish jelly that for some reason no other store around here carries. I went to look at their PC game stock, and I found 3 games for 12$ total.

One of them had steam somehow even though I doubt anyone else has ever heard it before. (Shadowgrounds: Survivor)

One has suerprisingly good graphics, and a destructable environment which is very rare on the scale this works (Frontlines: Fuel of War)

And I haven't started the third game yet because I try to go two games at a time normally. Plus it's in the form of 3 CDs instead of one DVD :I (Conflict: Global Terror)

$12 seems really cheap for three games, especially if they're not entirely crap.

I have no use whatsoever for my Learner's Permit other than it being a glorified ID card.
Living in NYC can make such things marginally obsolete.

In other uneventful news TFM decided to crash so now I have nothing to do until the server comes back up.

Tomorrow is my school's annual debates. We'll be going against grade 9's to convince people that Facebook should be banned (an idea which is not supposed to be taken extremely practically). I'm feeling a little nervous at the prospect of speaking publicly in front of everyone tomorrow, but I hope I do well in spite of that.

Today at school I was caught in one of the Public Computer Suites playing Minecraft (The private one I usually go to was closed off for a detention). Caught by a technician, the people who maintain the servers and are in-charge of all the computers in the school. Oh boy. He's caught me playing games twice, but this time he actually knew what the game was, which I found rather amusing. "You're not really supposed to be playing Minecraft, are you? How did you get it on there?" My friend interrupted at that point, saying "We're running it off a memory stick.". That was actually a lie, we'd found out how to get into Application Data on our school drive, the only thing on the memory stick was the game client. If the technician knew that I'd be in some really deep trouble. REALLY deep. He confiscated my memory stick and when I came home today to check what he'd done to it I found that he'd wiped it. Completely. >_>

At least your school actually cares about its computers. A lot of the ones in my computer science class were compromised by large games (like GTA and Halo) and viruses... even the teacher's computer.

Oh man! I am currently overwhelmed by the many things which happened this week, especially in the last two days. We went to a five-star hotel for the Reader's Cup award ceremony after we came in second place on the whole country from 60 teams. I got a book signed by Charlie Higson, a free ticket to meet him, an offer to go on the radio and a commemorative certificate. The first place winners, who got a golden cup among other things, only beat us by two points! Finally, the icing on the cake is that I moved to my new house, which is amazing in every sense of the word.

I don't see myself on tv for some reason. It's not like I am camera shy or easy to get shy around people since I play minor roles in my high school play and recently gave out a speech about service in National Honors Society Induction ceremony. I wish I could be in the school play this year, but I will plan to join ACE.

The weather over here in So Cal has been back and forth between mildly hot and cold.
It's about 67 degrees over here right now. On Tuesday it was about 83 degrees though. It's been cooling down ever since the forecast said it's gonna rain today.

I don't like rain cause then I can't go to the park and play soccer. :<

My school is celebrating World Water Day tomorrow by holding many different activities, and I'm in charge of the quiz competition as well as the presentation for the whole school (along with Spirit). I'm looking forward to these things tomorrow, especially the "Sponge A Teacher" activity, where you can hit any of the participating teachers with sponges. 8)

That's true. I especially like my school because it organizes many fun events for us.

Today turned out to be a very exciting day. I am glad I participated in it. We prepared water guns, water balloons and water buckets and soaked our teachers with water. They also did the same thing, but we owned them. After that, I played with my friends basketball. We were against the teachers. We actually won, despite the fact that they were more skilled than us (Don't tell me they went easy on us. They did not.). An overall impression of such a day is: AWESOME! I am also going to be absent tomorrow since my body is aching and I don't feel like going to school.

Hi! Yeah, Cat did a reform to all the title bars for the staff to match the current generation. Nice, right?

HTML isn't really THAT hard. Plus, I'm not sure if we will be taking it or not.

Yeah, we use the same book, too. If there's one thing I hate about it, it's how it divides many things into "Uses", "Advantages" and "Disadvantages".

I went to Dubai Mall with Shadow today. I tried the ice skating for the first time, got several bruises as I fell a lot. I am bad in skating... I also bought three new books; the final book of Harry Potter and two other books of Percy Jackson. We went and watched Rango today, and it was really good.

I don't blame you for ending up with those bruises ice skating is hard.

Thankfully I know how to ice-skate really well, but that covers only the basics. I have been trying to skate backwards today, but it's much harder than I thought.

Oh, and ice skating is like uber fun. I fell a few times the first time I tried but got relatively good; I was ale to go kind of fast and whatnot. xD

Going back to ice skating for a bit, we always go ice skating every year (outdoor, obviously) and I'm really good at it, but I really don't find it that fun. Both my parents are really good at it, skating backwards and making figure 8s and all that typical stuff. My sister however, she's OK.

For someone who lives in Canada, the country of snow, I find it quite understandable for you and your family (or any Canadian) to be skilled in skating or skiing.

Don't even get me started with skiing. I love it so much and it's one of my favourite activities to do. I always go on the diamond mountains, which are typically for the most skilled skiers. Next time I go I'llmake a video with my phone as I go down. :3

Oh man! I always feel thrilled to try skiing, but the fear of injuring myself constantly holds me back. My friends have repeatedly described the rush of excitement they get when they're skiing, so that leaves me wanting to try it even more. xD

I usually don't go skiing, but when my dad goes snowboarding he usually comes back with a lot of injuries. At one point he had to stay in bed because he broke his arm.

I also find it funny how you live in the middle of the dessert and can go skiing.

Actually, my dad is going to a SANS conference held in Orlando, and his company is paying for everything that has anything to do with at least him; a free flight, a free stay at the Dolphin Resort, and free meals. And even better, one of my mom's friends' friends works at Disney World and managed to get us a one-day Park Hopper ticket.

You are surely one lucky guy. Congratulations, and may your career turns out to be fruitful.

well, today has been... interesting. Yesterday's forecast was an 80% chance of thunderstorms, and when we woke up: rain. Thunderstorms, in fact. I turned on the TV and switched to WESH News, and on the radar I saw that Orlando would be under a red spot by about 8:45. We were also under a severe thunderstorm warning and tornado watch. The areas around us were under a tornado warning. Then the satellite went out. When it finally came back, it said that there was a tornado touchdown, hail, and some wind damage to the north. Oh boy.

(this whole adventure occurred within about an hour and a half)
