I've never been too competitive about SSBB anyways, and I knew I wouldn't make it to the finals. Nevertheless, I still wanted to join the tournament in order to participate more in extra events in the forums. I almost had Sunny in our match, but the lag made my moves predictable and so he was able to beat me by one stock in both the matches.

You missed a lot of stuff happening, actually. The only bad thing was the lag, but otherwise the tournament atmosphere was amazing (at least for me).

I never played SSBB either, so for me it was just a day in internet hell.

Man, I'm sad I missed the Brawl tornumant(Typo). Oh well, I had an awesome time with friends instead!

On the topic of Brawl, I need to start playing it again. I'm also at a crossroad with Brawl, but...
I might start playing it again soon. After I beat Epic Mickey 100%!

...Sup gaiz? o3o Just got back from Disney World.

'Twas pretty fun except the long waits in the park as well as the 15 hour car ride there and back, but oh well. I finished Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs on the way back. Also, I broke part of my DS, but it still works. The top right part where the light is broke, so only the left hinge is holding my DS together, along with some nicely working electric tape. Once again, I am amazed at the durability of Nintendo products. :3

Also. I got Japanese candy in Disney World.. And it was WIN. I shall upload pics of the DS and candy later. That is all for now.. xD

Ah, thanks. And yeah, my first handheld (a GBA) was falling apart for a while. Lots of drops and dinks yet it worked perfectly. Definitely a strong point of Nintendo. :3

Welcome back, SK! Speaking of Nintendo products, my DS Lite fell several times from me on the floor, and it never stopped working or broke apart (contrary to what many people told me). It still has no scratches and the screens are working perfectly fine. I tend to take extra care of anything belonging to me, so maybe that's why, too.

Happy new year everybody!

My countries new year (GMT +8) happened about 7 hours and 20 minutes ago. Great party at my friends house. After party was great too, played FIFA 11 till the early morning. At about 6 am (1 hourish ago), instead of sleeping, I just decided to walk to a MacDonalds, have breakfast and walk home.

That happened to mine too. I dropped it, then the hinge fell off, and now the screen can't stand up on its own.

Anyways, I got 3 days left of vacation... *sigh*

Yeah, it kinda sucks that school is on Monday. But it actually isn't that bad for me, because all we'll be doing for the next 2 weeks is studying for semester exams and taking them. And fortunately, there are only a couple of them that I'm worried about. I won't have very much homework next week but to study, and then I just have too take 7 tests the next. I believe we also get a 4 day weekend after our exams, AND on Tuesday-Thursday the week of our exams we get out early. Exam week is not so bad after all.

Well, tomorrow (Sunday) and Monday are not going to be as bad as Tuesday and Wednesday, as we're going to get our mid-year exam papers on these two days. D:

The subjects which I'm really afraid of are English Language, English Literature and Business. It's not the papers themselves that were hard (that's one of the reasons, though not the main one); the teachers are going to be marking them very strictly to prepare us for our external IGCSE exams next year. =/

I feel lucky my school doesn't give exams until the end of the year. Yes, I know that's really odd so don't ask why they do it because I don't know. Next year when I move schools however, I'll be just like you guys and have all these wonderful exams throughout the year. :/
I'm actually not scared of them though, because I happen to not dislike tests.

It kind of depends on how you interpret 'tests' or 'exams' and how often you get them. To me, I dislike both of them with special emphasis on exams; there's often a lot of work involved in exams, and the nervousness which they bring is really unbearable. Plus, getting three exams per one day is just too much for a student to handle.

I especially hate when teachers put pressure on students for exam. It doesn't really help the fact it affects our grades the most. Also jugging with big projects made it more stressful. Not to mention I didn't do any work during the break and I am falling behind for History project.

So I got all my exam papers and let us say... bleh. I think I got the worst marks so far. Most of them are in 80s and they are just unusual. It seems I am losing my touch. My parents don't know that I had review of papers, and I didn't bother to tell them. Eventually, they will know by Saturday since report cards will be given then. Until that time, I am going to enjoy my life, since I am afraid my laptop would be taken from me when my marks are revealed. I have to prepare a speech now so that I defend myself and have a strong points against them while arguing.

Interestingly, I believe I have received the best batch of marks ever in my school. Here's a list of my grades:

-*English Language: 88%
-*English Literature: 86%
-Mathematics: 98%
-Biology: 99%
-Physics: 96%
-Chemistry: 90%
-Business Studies: 96%
-Arabic Language: 98%
-Theology: 96%-98% (mark being changed)
-ICT: 96%
-P.E: 94%

(Subjects marked with asterisks (*) are the ones which were marked exactly as external examinations, including being highly strict about the slightest details. When we asked our teachers whether these marks accurately reflect our likely results in the external exams next year, they told us that we will probably get higher results then. This just shows how strictly they were marking the papers now.)

To my extreme and indescribable delight, I got the highest grades among all 10th graders in most of the subjects mentioned above. Therefore, I feel that my hard work during the examination time really paid off now, and I hope that I maintain this pace throughout the year.

In grade 8 we did take an exam that had 187 questions, but it really wasn't that hard.
Most of my tests are about 3-5 pages long and take me about 1 or 2 classes to finish. French tests are different however, it's an oral test s all we have to do is learn a paragraph and recite it with perfect pronunciation and not miss any lines.

Good job Shadow.

My tests don't begin until next week. Luckily, we have what the school calls an Exam break. It's just instead of going to school every day during exams, you only have to go on days you have an exam. That means I have to go Wednesday next week, and then Wednesday 2 weeks later for my only two tests, the other days I get off. And The break continues until February.

Yeah, they are always A's with 3 B's for P.E, English Literature and English Language. Although I studied well this term, I just didn't concentrate enough while doing the exam or I ran out of time because I either wrote slowly or dozed off looking at the clock hand for minutes. I already have the papers, but I didn't show my parents. I am screwed if I don't justify my case properly. <_<

Guys, you never cease to make me feel grateful for having you around. Thanks a lot!

Also, Kirby, it's not really 'Theology' but rather a class where we are taught the teachings of our religion. I just used that term since it was the closest I could use to refer to this class.

Trust me, if there's one thing I've learned through this examination time, it's that the only thing which you require to get good grades is full dedication and concentration. These helped me to prioritize my studies above everything, including VR, and although it was an extremely stressful time, the results made me forget all my efforts.

Thanks Anathema.

Just when I was feeling kind of underappreciated because my parents did not show evident delight with my grades, they surprised me by saying that they will be giving me about $450 as a reward for them! This also excludes the money to buy Black later on, so I am feeling extremely happy right now.

I am not sure if this suggestion helps with your problem but having your laptop taken away because you mainly got B's is pretty harsh and ridiculous since you have decent marks. Maybe you can explain your parents that not having all the top scores will not devastated your academic record and you put your best effort on the exams.

To be honest, I was really surprised at their decision, too. Normally, they get the impression that I do not need any motivation to maintain the good work, and they're actually right about that. However, you sometimes feel like they should at least praise and award you occasionally just to show that what you're doing is not underestimated.

Anyways, does anyone know any released/shortly upcoming movie which is worth seeing? I feel like 2011 will be a great year for the big screen, what with many anticipated movies like the last Harry Potter movie, Kung Fu Panda 2, etc.

The next film coming out that seems interesting to me would be the Green Hornet.

Aside from that there don't seem to be any interesting films until April unless you want to see Justin Beiber's movie.

There should be a great dislike to your last statement. 8(

Today was the parent-teacher meeting day. I woke up at 7.00 am, despite the fact that it would start at 9.00, and despite the fact that I slept at 1.00 am. It was just weird. I went there with my father, not early though, and talked to several teachers. Most of my teachers said good stuff about me, which made my dad glad. Then, my Business teacher said that he was shocked with my marks and that he expects more. Generally, what he said wasn't pleasing at all, and I felt like hitting him so bad. We met my Maths teacher, and my previous Maths teacher. Both of them praised me quite well, and even more than needed that my dad, who happens to prefer maths over anything, was too glad with what they said. I was saved. Of course, I had a whole argument before the PTM with both my parents. I started telling them about how Einstein used to fail in Maths. I also promised that I will improve and all this whatnot. It took me an hour, but I was able to convince them. But one thing I noticed, when parents start to criticize you about something, they don't stick to that thing. They go criticizing you about every single thing which is bad in you so that they show you as guilty...

I was actually reading the synopsis of "The Green Hornet" earlier, and it didn't sound too bad to me. Plus, it has Cameron Diaz.

Also, I recently only found out that there will be a movie about Justin Bieber, which comes off, in my opinion, as another cheap way to get extra cash out of stupid fan girls. Ah well, complaining won't help in anything...

Well, our current math teacher is sure to heave you with great compliments, as he considers us the stars of his class because we always answer the difficult questions for him. xD Our old math teacher always thought highly of us, and considering he's the best teacher we ever had, it doesn't surprise me that he praised you. Therefore, you're lucky that you always made a good impression with both of them.

I really hate that. It's enough that they're talking about a single problem and lecturing you about it. You don't need to be shown all your mistakes just because of one incident. =/

Thankfully, I did not have to go through all this. I simply went to school, picked my report card (which is awesome beyond all words) and left. I'm 100% sure all the teachers don't have anything negative to say about me, and my report card actually includes rave comments from all my subject teachers. Even my grades reflect my hard work, so my parents congratulated me and rewarded me appreciatively. =D

And thus begins hell Final Exam week (and a half).

I started my computer programming final yesterday. I'm stuck and I have no idea how to finish the program portion. So if Spongebob can pass the oral exam of his boating test and fail the actual driving portion, that must mean that I'm going to get a 100% on the written portion! Amirite? ...No?

I'll be starting my World History final today. The teacher literally showed us the final (without any answers filled in, of course) and gave us two whole days to study it and see if there are any questions we don't know the answer to, and look it up in the textbook, so I shouldn't have any problems with that one (c'mon, daddy needs a new pair of shoes an A!)!

I think I also have my Wellness final today, but that class is uber-easy and there is no way I could possibly fail it.

The rest of the finals are next week.

I'm seriously at risk of failing Trig right now. I have a C-. If I don't pass the final, I'm screwed. Better make like TSoT and prepare my speech...

Yes boy, start preparing it for the the upcoming hell. However, not that I want to frustrate you, my marks were slightly higher than C-, so you most probably will face a harder time convincing your parents than me. However, as an advice, just say that Einstein failed in Maths, and that every smart person must have his downfall for at least one time. That can be helpful, trust me.

Hmm... I'll consider that. Thanks.

(Perhaps I should also bring up the fact that my parents sucked more at math than me.)

Also, my Wellness final wasn't today. It isn't until next week, along with the rest of my finals.

GAH, MY LIFE IS SUCKING RIGHT NOW.

I've been getting A's since 6th grade, and I don't wanna stop now, but my chances of getting an A- in English are slim to none. With a total of two tests left (A lit. test on the play Antigone and the English final) I am very close to getting my first B+ in a while.

My current grade took a beating when my two important essays came back at an 87% (OK, I suppose) and a 76% (Not very good), thus dropping my grade to an 88.96%. Based on calculations, I must get a 100% on the Antigone test and a 98% or better on the final to get an A- in the class (as my teacher doesn't round our scores). Plus, the English final is a total of 185 questions, far longer than any test I've ever taken.

Aggh, it feels like my hard work is blowing up in my face now. >.<

...you b- *shot*

In all retrospect, they want me to be able to remember all 140 vocabulary words that we learned over the 1st semester for the test. How the heck am I supposed to remember!? Even if I am the memorization machine! D:

Needless to say, grammar isn't really my strong suit. Neither are writing assignments. My teacher said my think piece sounded more like a personal confession and the 5-paragraph essay was, apparantly, "too flowery in language". Plus my teacher makes me get rid of prepositional phrases from our essays, even if my 8th grade teacher told me that I was supposed to use them. By the end of the year, I'm going to have learned to not use prepositional phrases, and then I bet my 10th grade teacher will tell me to use them again. XI

Well, I guess I'd better get to studying. ._.

Due to the lovely network errors yesterday, I wasn't able to log on to VR at all. I tried to refresh the page many times, closed the tab and re-opened it, reset my router and restarted my computer but with no success. I just gave up after all that. xD

Anyways, today we got a lecture from "The Princeton Review" about the SAT, the common requirements for universities (including both British and American) and even went over sample SAT questions. I thought that the lecture was excellent, as many of us were in doubt and confusion as to what certificates/qualifications we should have for entering university.

Damn it. These three weeks that are coming are going to be one of the busiest weeks of this year. I have an ICT (Information & Communication Technologies which is harder than IT) project. I have to make a chart or a board where I need to speak about something related to ICT. Yes, nothing specific. It is really hard to get a topic, and our teacher is so strict and ambitious when it comes to content. Thankfully, it is due to the 30th of Jan. Then, I have for next week an assignment about the play of Julius Caesar for English Literature. The good thing about it is that he didn't specifically ask for essays, but any kind of way to show the main theme of the play. I am going to draw, but I am still not finalized when it comes to what I should specifically draw. I think I should start from tomorrow morning. Now the worst of all is the Business Fair, in which we have to prepare a business project and demonstrate it in a fair, where you can actually sell your items. We also got to do an international-based debate. It is a very nice day, but preparing for it is really hard. Shadow and I have to finalize our idea and finish it. We will be having the fair on the 28th of Feb. Thankfully, we won't be studying any Business for the upcoming weeks, until the fair is over. Of course, I have got several tests in this whole mess. What in the world am I supposed to handle?! :\

Well, my Antigone test is tomorrow, and I'm less than confident. But I suppose I'd ought to try to get as close to an A- in the class as possible. If I don't manage, then I suppose taking the B+ will be a wake-up call for the second semester.

I hate social studies, geography and history, which is why I dropped all three of them in grade 9. Technically speaking, however, I hate studying history (due to long assignments, many projects, etc.) but not reading about it.

The first grade is my exam grade and the one after the slash is for the semester.

Art 2 Drawing: No exam/97
Algebra 2 PreAP: 89/91
Biology PreAP: 99/92
Communication Applications: 91/94
Spanish 2: 83/91
World History AP: 82/82
English 2: 91/92

I'm surprised about Biology, though. o3o Didn't think that it would be my best exam grade. And I'm happy that I got a B in my AP class.

Is this too old to quote? I THINK NOT.

I remember getting B's all the time in 8th grade. Then 9th grade comes along and I get straight A's. ...Then I get a couple B's.... Now I have a C... Well, it was getting easier for a while, and now it's starting to get harder again...

I have 73% in Math, and that's not including the test I took yesterday, and considering I skipped a whole page on that test, it looks like I may fail my first class ever V_V

Now I'm just gonna say a bunch of random stuff that's on my mind.
random stuff that's on my mind
Weird that Americans call it grades but everyone else in the world calls it marks.
That and math(s).
Whenever I think "pane" like windowpane, I think of the pain associated with some dude scratching his nails against a windowpane/chalkboard.

Fubs, just study and you'll be fine

...I just realized that I'm getting my schedule changed for the 2nd semester on Tuesday when I go back to school. I hope I don't lose any of my good classes. D:

Well knowing my laziness, that won't happen. Well I always do good in Social. Mainly because I already know more about what we're learning than most people.

Today I played basketball in the morning. It has been for such a long time since I last played. It is quite bothersome in the beginning, but it is nice once you get used to playing again.

You know when you feel like you want to explode and temporarily leave this world to relieve your mind? You know when you get a strong urge to punch something so hard to express how you're feeling right now?

Well, those feelings summarize my reaction towards the huge pile of work which I have to do during the course of the coming weeks. As if the list of stuff to do which I posted last page wasn't enough, we're also getting an Arabic Language test, Physics test and Biology test before the end of this month! =/

Prd 3: Chinese I (100.00% - A+)..............Low
Prd 5: Band II (94.66% - A)....................Medium
Prd 6: Eng.Honors(89.22% - B+)..............High

It started to rain few minutes ago. It is not like a lot of rain, but I hope it becomes heavy soon. I really want a rain day so that we can get a holiday. I am already fed up with school. >_<

On the plus side, all the heavy school work will keep us busy until March 6th.

IGCSE Mock examinations start in a month and a weeks time.. Sigh.. but instead of studying, I, of course, find myself playing Pokemon Black at midnight ._.

Are you in grade 11? Over here, only grade 11 students take their Mocks, so that means I don't have to worry about them this year.

Actually, I'm in grade 10. I think my mocks are just a school thing.
