Oh, that's nothing at all. I am not bothered with killing or blood. I find it exciting, actually. Today's dissection was nice. I think we will dissect a kidney later on.

Well, it's exciting (and funny) when someone says: "I'm only gonna squeeze, squeeze your squeeze, squeeze your heart" and then sticks his finger into the blood vessels.

That's a bit random. In grade 8 (last year) we dissected pig hearts. That was fun cutting it open and feeling it. *Shivers* It almost felt like we weren't wearing gloves it was so slippery.

I disected a crawfish in Biology in either 9th or 10th grade, maybe a frog too.

I've never dissected anything... I was never given the chance, we just don't do that at my school... Apparently (Though I was at the dentist while it was happening) as a special activity for Day 11 (A tri-weekly day where we don't do schoolwork, but instead special activities) all the year 7's got to dissect an eyeball...

In my opinion, it would be pretty creepy if someone was to dissect an eyeball. I mean, I can already imagine myself thinking it is gazing at me. o_O

Just because my teacher found out I accidentally made a very small cut on my finger, he told me to go to the clinic and take antiseptics due to bacteria and stuff. So really, you can imagine what his reaction would've been if we did the dissection without gloves. =P

I dissect a pig's eye in 6th grade. I find it fasinating that I take things apart with my own hands. I remember a field trip last year when I touch a sheep's lung and you get to squeeze the lungs with something to simulate the sheep's breathing.

There was a realy funny thing that happened when I was in 7th grade...my teacher told us we wer having a dissection, all the guys were like, "YAY!!!!" and all the girls were like, "Awwwww..." We asked what we were dissecting, and she said,

"We're going to dissect a flower!"

Tell me about it. The only thing that made it interesting was when a guy just stuck a bunch of pins in it and tore the flower apart. Not that that was so interesting, but it was the most interesting. Sadly. XoX

I can't wait to dissect an eyeball. It is going to be really amazing. But first, we need to reach the chapter of the eyes. Oh! I wish we make some experiment in Chemistry, since I am getting bored now from theories. I think we will be doing an experiment in Physics next class for specific thermal capacity. I just hope the teacher doesn't forget...

On another note, I have been doing a lot of homework today! I finished Physics homework, Literature essay, Business project and studied for the Maths test. I have to study for IT test tomorrow.

Anyways, today was pretty awesome for me. My friends/cousins and I went to a mall in Dubai, to a place called "Soccer Circus" where you do a lot of small challenges in soccer to improve yourself, enjoy your time and accumulate points. We were able to collect 108,044 points, which is a HUGE number.

Our progress reports are coming out on November 4th. I'm fairly confident about all the subjects except for English Literature. My marks in it are lower than what I expected, especially with the strictness of our teacher's marking. >_>

The only way for me to get any sort of way to check my grades online requires me AND my parents to get the password, etc. I think so i'll just hold off on that so they don't have any more reasons to hound me...
I actually upped my Physics class from an F to a mid-C today! I doubt I'll be able to get my other F class, Elementary Functions, up to a D, so hopefully I can I just try to either get it to a very low D, or fail it and pass the next 9 weeks and it's exam to pass the semester. :\

Our school doesn't upload grades online, so you need to attend the school day in order to collect your report. We get them during form time at the end of the day. Also, those progress reports are not as important as the report cards which are given after the mid-year and final examinations.

My grades are stable so I'm pretty good with my school work at the moment.

I got a B. I am disappoint. Our actual GCSE is coming up just after half term, so a couple of weeks time. I really want at least an A, so I've gotta up my game a bit if I want to get it. Revision revision revision. One mark less and I would've been on a C. :V

We don't get report cards 'til late October, but I'm kind of excited to be able to brag to the kids in my class about my grades, because I could get a 75% (which is horrible e_e to me) and I'd still get higher marks than all of them. I'm in the stupid people class. Yay.

Wait, your take your GCSE in grade 10? I guess that's another difference between the GCSE and IGCSE courses, since we sit for the latter next year during the second term.

My parents are used to me getting A's throughout the year, so they get slightly disappointed when I score lower than that. However, in the few times where I got marks lower than expected, they were very supportive of me and told me not to feel so down about it. I really like how understanding they are.

Yeah my parents are always dissapointed when I get anything lower than 75%, which is when I'm dissapointed myself. My mom always makes a big scene though and makes me feel stupid when she talks about how I didn't do very good. That's above the standard in my class for crying out loud! 15 out of 24 people in my class failed that test, and I got the highest mark, but it wasn't good enough for my mom. -_-

Sounds like my parents, except 85% to 80%, they're just disappointed, and 89% to 85% I get disapproved. Low 90s are a little iffy and mid-90s to 100 is good. 101+ is awesome.

On the other hand, 79%-70% I get a lecture, 69%-60% I get grounded for a week, 59% or below... *doesn't want to think about it*

But yeah, test get a little difficult when you know how your parents react by your grades. My parts of the sentence test yesterday was a 98%, but they didn't give much comment to it. They just said "Good." and went on their way.

Personally, I'm disappointed by anything below 90%, because A's are what I usually get. :I

I just look at my US History and I got a B- which is good since that class is difficult. My grade got raise up from the test I thought I fail at.

Haha well I am pretty much the same, they aren't very happy with low 80s and the high 70s in when it gets bad.. Once I got a 64 on the quiz (worst grade evar) and they kablooied. Fortunately I still had a 90 in the class so they let me off with somewhat of a warning.

And I didn't tell them that I had 10 extra points on it either

Today was a flu shot (those don't hurt at all) and a hemoglobin shot (blood sugar test; this one hurt minorly after I got it and the second I got it) I might have to get two more shots for cholesterol and something I'd rather not mention. o_0

Today was a flu shot (those don't hurt at all) and a hemoglobin shot (blood sugar test; this one hurt minorly after I got it and the second I got it) I might have to get two more shots for cholesterol and something I'd rather not mention. o_0
I don't mind shots since most of the shots I got had mild pain. For some reason, I don't like looking at the needle and turn away from it because if I look at it, I might get scared. There is a shot I took for awhile and it really hurts. Even a few weeks later, the pain is still there.

I got my practice ACT scores back and I did better than I thought. For Reeding I got 23, Science 21, Math 21, and English 14. The score overall is 19. The test wasn't that hard except for the English part since I am not good with grammer and hate it. The problem I have with the test is there's barely time to answer the questions and I really don't like it because I can't double check my answers. I think I did alright but I want to get a better score. Since I have AP, they will help me to study for the ACT test.

Well darn.. Honestly it's not post count that matters. What is is, just becoming an integrated part of the community. That's what a forum is about.

Please stop posting randomly and in an offtopic manner just to boost your post count. People respect you for who you are, not what a number says.
SK, I would put that in the VR quotations thread if Wii had copy/paste.

Anyway, i'm in an SAT Prep class myself. Essentially an easy A but shows how horrible I am at math. We started doing geometry work today and I don't remember any of that crap from 10th grade. Man do I wish below college schools taught you stuff valuable to your future more...WHEN WILL I EVER NEED TO KNOW THAT A CERTAIN ANGLE IS 180º??

Would you mind explaining the 106%? As far as I now, tests are normally graded out of a 100%.

I never heard of a "Woods Class" before. Is it compulsory for all students, or is it optional? And what exactly do you have to do in it?

It's Woodshop or "Shop" class as some people call it, you cut wood and make numerous things such as clocks, chairs, tables, etc. basically anything you can make with wood.
Here at my school we just call it Woodshop and it's an optional elective.

I was in a woodshop in two grade levels during middle school. You basically make stuff out of wood, however some of the time we were using LEGO. The worst times was when the teacher was out, because he assigned bookwork. I even cut my finger once in that class, looked at it for a few seconds or something, then a kid said, "You should go to the nurse!" then I asked the teacher to go.
^ A cool story, bro. ^

Only thing I have left from there is my gumball machine I think, we made wooden cars propelled by rubber bands too, however.

I'd say that there were either 1. Bonus questions or 2. Extra points for doing a review, study guide, or something related. Perhaps he answered 48/50 questions right, but got a 10 point bonus for doing the review, for a total of 106% on the test.

sowing was cut because someone got there finger stuck in the needle in the sewing machine. it went straight through there finger it happened two years ago. Also cooking was cut because of my schools budget cut, and sowing was cut because it had the same teacher as cooking.

BTW, I wrote this sonnet for my English class. Do you mind reading it and giving me feedback?

Sonnet to a Lone Rose

The sky is pouring rain, I walk along
The weight of solitude hunching my back
I walk disgusted by the cheering throng
That laughs at the men living in the shack.

The presence of injustice walks the earth
And I have often challenged him to fight
The corrupt people, with a grotesque mirth
Point at me as I fall to his great might.

With agony I walk this road I chose
That strives for justice, with the cost of hurt
But on this lonely road’s a single rose
Solitary in the gross and wet dirt.

In the mirror I look and see this rose
And I do not regret this road I chose.

A sonnet is a 14-line poem of 4 stanzas with the rhyme scheme ABAB CDCD EFEF GG. There must be 10 syllables per line, as well.
Thanks for the feedback! Tropius, you should totally post your poems!

Heres a poem I wrote a while back>

A special world for you and me
A special bond one cannot see
It wraps us up in its cocoon
And holds us fiercely in its womb.

Its fingers spread like fine spun gold
Gently nestling us to the fold
Like silken thread it holds us fast
Bonds like this are meant to last.

And though at times a thread may break
A new one forms in its wake
To bind us closer and keep us strong
In a special world, where we belong.

Neither can I! Of course, I'll have to wait 'til it comes out on DVD, so you'll have to tell me how good it is .

My sister is absolutely obssessed with the Harry Potter series. Watches the movies every year, re-reads the books all the time, etc.

I liked the Harry Potter series, but my sister is an all-out fan, crying when

Do not open if you haven't read the entire series
Sirius dies (he was her favorite character) and *giggle* when Hedwig died.

She even once gave me a whole long description of why she's so excited. I stood there and took it, even occasionally asking questions about the series. She answered them all. o.o
