If recent can count about a month or so ago, then this is a recent purchase. If not I bought the fans with red LEDs about a week ago so ha. (Ignore the full trash can)
(i'll post the specs if anyone actually cares)
1 – Seiji J. KonokamaAwhile ago, I bought Minecraft when it was at version 1.2.5. I really don't go online with it, and you can blame my astronomical internet costs for that. So, to avoid the high cost of internet, I've been playing offline, and I haven't left it alone since.
Also, I tried updating to the latest version of Minecraft, only to find out that it glitched like crazy on my MacBook in Windows 7. Fortunately, I backed up 1.2.5 before updating, and I'm happy to be stuck with it.
With $50 of my birthday money, I was able to get the following on Steam:
-Bastion ($14.99)
-Cave Story+ ($9.99)
-The Binding of Isaac ($4.99)
-VVVVVV ($4.99)
-Cthulu Saves the World & Breath of Death VII Double Pack ($2.99)
-Fall Key for TF2 ($2.49)
You may notice that this does not add up to $50. I still have $9.77 left in my Steam Wallet, so I'm saving that in case I see a game on sale that looks rather enjoyable.
2 – TurtwigX, Velociraptor78Something I've needed since I found Mario Kart 64 and Turok, I bought a Performance Memory Card Plus for Nintendo 64, which ran me about $5. I quick-tested all four of its banks with my GameShark, and it seems to work flawlessly, since I was able to see all of the previous owner's saves. I'll have to figure out how to reformat the card at a later date.
From Amazon [dot] com:
- Super NES controller to USB converter, $8.49
- Three-pack of iPhone/iPad stylus pens, $4.99
- Transcend 2 GB CompactFlash memory card, $10.48
- Transcend PCMCIA ATA adapter for CompactFlash card, $9.73

Garage sales from last Saturday:
NES Games:
Castlevania III: Dracula's Quest
Ferrari Gran Prix Challenge
Gunman
Maniac Mansion
Mission Impossible
R.B.I. Baseball 3
Super Mario Brothers 3
All for $10 total
And from another I got a black 1st party GameCube controller for $2.
Maniac Mansion I sold and made my $10 back. Dracula's Quest, Gunman, and RBI Baseball 3 I traded to someone online in exchange for Yoshi's Island (SNES). Super Mario Brothers 3 and the GCN controller I traded for a complete copy of Kirby's Epic Yarn (Wii). I still have Ferrari and Mission Impossible on eBay, should get another ~$5-7 for them. Also found another game store really close to my campus (had some nice stuff there: a Panasonic Q, a NES Power Glove, a Wii development system(!) that once belonged to Konami, a bunch of Game & Watches, a Famicom Disk Drive and even had some arcade/pinball machines on free-play). All I got was a complete copy of Demolition Racer: No Exit (DreamCast) for $5. They had like 20 copies and it has cars going boom so figured I'll give it a shot.
2 – Velociraptor78, Seiji J. KonokamaFrom a garage sale this last Saturday:
GBA games (all loose):
Zelda: A Link to the Past w/ the Four Swords
Cartoon Network Speedway
Quad Desert Fury/Monster Trucks (2 in 1 game pak)
Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku
F-14 Tomcat
Star Wars: Flight of the Falcon
Midnight Club: Street Racing
Duke Nukem Advance
Drilled Zer
All for $10.
The Zelda game easily goes for $10-$15 online. I sold the other GBA games at a local game store and got $10. So I technically got Zelda for free. ![]()

actually NO. got Pokemon Red for about $20 at a recently-opened retro game shop down the street. only problem with it is that the save gets erased every time I turn it off and on. I'll probably find some way to change the battery out, though. |
1 – Velociraptor78Interesting story here. I managed to get a copy of Megaman for the PC for a decent price, and it was on a floppy disc. *looks to the left* Lucky for me, my crappy computer is so old that it HAS a 3 1/2 floppy slot, so I got to try it out. Turns out, it's one of those games that play based on how good the GPU is, so I manage to start it up, and play for 3 seconds before I get absolutely mauled by a tiger or something running at light speed. (In related news, the game believes my atrocious GPU is absolutely fantastic...)
...I suppose this means I can no longer say I've never played a Megaman game?

From NintendoAge, I got Wario World (complete) for the GameCube, Nintendo Power magazines 77 (featuring Yoshi's Island), 93 (Mario Kart 64), and 104 (Yoshi's Story) all with their original posters still in them for $20 shipped. Once this arrives in the mail, I can sell my disc-only copy of Wario World for about $8-10.
Then yesterday I struck a deal with someone on AtariAge to trade some N64 cases and SNES dust covers I had laying around (since I don't use them because I got the universal cases) for Bubble Bobble (with instructions) and Pac-Man, both for the NES.
At the swap shop, I unloaded some games I lost interest in, a three-button Sega Genesis controller that I no longer needed (because I have two six-button controllers...
), and in return, I received Mortal Kombat II and Golden Axe, both for Sega Genesis. The edge connectors have been cleaned, and all I have left to do is test the games.
1 – GalliumGrantJust put down my pre-order for Paper Mario: Sticker Star. NewEgg has a special for $29.99 with free shipping. I don't mind waiting another day or two for it to arrive in the mail to get 25% off (plus tax)
. If anyone else is interested, the promo code to get the discount is EMCYTZT2452 I don't know how long this code is good for, so use it while you can.

I just got the next humble Bundle Humble THQ Bundle for $5.50, considering they are full games that I know I'm going to play (3 I konw I will play through on maybe with a friend we will see)
|
Super Hexagon - Insanely addictive, very simple yet challenging game. I love it. From the same guy that made VVVVVV with incredible chiptune music.
I also bought the THQ bundle, but since I'll only be playing Saints Row 3 I have a code with all the other games in the bundle spare.
In-N-Out Double Double with well-done fries and lemonade and the replacement LCD for my laptop that decides to break during the week of finals.
Recently, I just bought my Writing 2 books for the next quarter.
Gamewise. I finally got Mario Kart 7. Gotta play with it later. I just want Bioshock Infinite and the PMD 3 though!
2 – JDxImpetus, TurtwigX
1 – GreenManUniverse Sandbox (PC, pretty good simulator, really)
Saints Row: The Third (PC, love the dialogue to this game)
Red Faction: Armageddon (PC, I like this one, but I don't know how you go from Human vs Human war to Human vs Alien war)
Mass Effect (PC)
And my cousin was gracious to gift me a copy of Castle Crashers.
OH, I forgot this when I first posted. I got Trine 2 on the Wii U.
Although none of it is a video game (almost picked up Halo: Reach, but I'm going to wait until I get bored of Halo 4), where else am I gonna share my shopping spree goodies today?

Although I will say that I got Twinbee (Retro shooters are hard but addicting) and am planning to scrape together some more Nintendo Coins so I can get Mario Party 2.
1 – GalliumGrantGot Saints Row: The Third with all DLC on Steam as a gift from Greenman. Due to one of my RAM sticks going bad and taken out of my system a few months ago it runs a little laggy, so I can't really play it until I get it replaced.
I also got McPixel (also on Steam) for $2.50 ... and then proceeded to 100% complete it in 3 hours. It's not really much of a game, but more of "click at everything and see what explodes". However, it is VERY random and it's fun to see all the references (one of my favorites) so it is an enjoyable ride. Though yeah, way to short. Does have a level editor though.
