Walking a bit ahead towards the edge of patch of forestry he motioned Adara to follow. "You ready?" He was kind of glad she chose to be with him.

"Yup." Adara replied. She walked over in his direction, while Empathy went over to go with Yoshi. "Um.. I guess you can lead the way." She said to Lane.

"Kay so...I'd guess you prefer speaking mentally, right?" Yoshi was trying to make conversation till the two found an appropriate place to battle.

"It is how I usually communicate," Empathy replied, speaking aloud, "Since Adara is still learning how to speak and understand our language. It's usually a bit more difficult to do it with Pokemon that are not of the Psychic type, however, and I usually speak aloud to them. I don't have much of a preference, really." She looked around. "Were you looking for a battleground that had something in particular?" She asked him.

Yoshi winced.
Darn Dark-typeishness.
"Just an open space where the attacks don't damage any innocent Pokemon's homes and stuff. Hold on, I'll run around and look."

"I can look around myself with Psychic, if you'd like," Empathy suggested, "It'd save you the time and energy."

"Yeah, but you've helped enough already. It's my turn to do some work. Besides," the Absol said,
"Bet I run faster than Psychic-" and took off.

Empathy smiled. "Challenge accepted." She said. Her eyes glowed blue as she searched the surrounding forest. After about a minute, she tossed a telepathic thought towards Yoshi, though she was a little unsure if he could hear it or not, Turn right and go that way for a little bit. How does that clearing look?

( I lost? IMPOSSIBLE!!!!! )

Yoshi stopped short. "Aww....okay....hey yeah this is great, Teleport over here."

(Hey, Empathy has a quick mind. )

Empathy did, appearing just next to him. "Alright, then. Did you want to start immediately?"

"Well sure, unless you have something else in mind? I'm up for suggestions, heh."

"I don't." Empathy replied with a smile. She moved until she was a fair distance from him; about the same as a normal training field. "Alright, you move first." She called out.

"Kay, just tell me if you're hurt!"

Yoshi smacked himself inwardly. She's supposed to be hurt, it's a battle. Baka.

"Nevermind, don't tell me!'

Yoshi hit himself inwardly. Baka, baka, bakayerou.

He decided to shutup and just use Tackle.

Empathy chuckled silently before she was hit. She stumbled back, then used Psychic, not on Yoshi -She knew better than that; he was a Dark type- but on a pile of fallen leaves, making them fly towards him.

Absol wasn't fast enough to dodge the makeshift attack, and ran in circles before the leaves finally...
Got him.
With thier leafy rage leafiness.
And did nothing.
Because they were leaves.
Needless to say, Yoshi was embarrassed . He tried a zigzag move before attempting Bite.

Empathy attempted to jump back, but wasn't quite fast enough. She winced as he bit down into her arm, then used a Thunderbolt while they were still in contact.

"Soooooool!"

Yoshi flew back and hit a tree, crying out.

-Ahaha...that's what I get for hitting girls...ouch.-

"Good one, but I'm not done yet!"

Using the tree as a launchpad, Absol jumped high in the air, and came down, teeth glinting in the sun.

Empathy looked up quickly and, before she could stop to think that it might be a little too strong, fired a Focus Blast attack at the descending Yoshi.

"It's Bite time, better get ready and-WHOA ARCEEEEEUS!"

Absol couldn't maneuver in the air so well, and was going to take the hit, he knew that much. Thinking fast, he turned his head, pointing the scythe forward. It cut thru some of the attack, but the rest hit. He ended up tumbling down on Empathy, unable to control descent, or much else.

"Oof!" Empathy grunted as Yoshi fell on top of her. Carefully, she untangled herself from him and sat up. "I'm so sorry," She apologized, "Instinct took over before I could think better of it. Are you alright?"

"Eeeehhhhh... I'm good.I needed that to get experience, thank - whoa- thank you.I think I learned Slash just then. Just of out of out out curiosity, you're not using Double Team, are you?"

"Ah.. No, I am not." She replied, looking a little more closely at him, "Are you sure you're alright?"

"Yeah. Great. Learned a new move and everyt-"
Yoshi fainted.

Empathy looked at him for a moment, a little startled, then sighed a bit. "I thought so." She muttered under her breath. She thought for a moment, then remembered the herbs that Adara had bought when they'd passed through Eterna city to get to Hearthome. She concentrated on the image of one such herb; a leafy green one, then used Teleport. One second later, she was holding the herb. She knew Adara wouldn't mind; the Gardevoir had sometimes taken things from her bag this way when she had to. She knelt down beside Yoshi and carefully fed him the herb.

Yoshi woke up to a really bitter taste, and wow was it bitter.

"Why is the sun so bright...where am- Oh."

He saw Empathy, and everything came back to him.

"Oohhh...Well, I have to say, out of all those times I fell asleep on one of those hiking trips, I much prefer the sight of you, to several hungry Ursaring. Barely got out of that one...Did..did you wake me up?", he said, somewhat groggily.

Empathy couldn't help but smile. "Yes. I am sorry about that Focus Blast. That was good thinking, though; deflecting some of it with your scythe."

"It was nothing really. Thanks for reviving me...Really, I'm glad you did."

"It was no problem." Empathy smiled.

"I have to repay you somehow...Hmm. If you're tired from that Focus Blast and teleporting, I could carry you back to the cabin."

"Thank you for the offer, but I'm not that tired." Empathy replied, standing up, "We should probably head back, though."

"Yeah, the others are probably waiting for us. Let's go."

It was a minute of two of no eye contact and awkward silence in the brush when Lane wanted to break it. Oddly, not intending to flirt. "Sp do know anything about berries and such. I don't have an idea."

"I know some about them." Adara replied, ducking under a low-hanging branch, "I've done some reading about them. I think this is where a lot of people say is the best place to find Oran berries." She looked around. "They like having space from other plants, so they'll probably be in a clearing or something like that."

"Oh, cool, so soon we will find some!" He says hopping over a small boulder, because you shouldn't need a HM to climb over a small boulder.Then Lane stopped Adara and said, do you here that. It was a male voice.

Adara stopped, cocking her head slightly as she listened. "Yeah, I hear it." She said, her voice automatically dropping to little more than a whisper, "I can't tell what he's saying; can you?"

"No, nor where it is coming from..." Without hesitation he walks North-West, looking for the voice.

Adara hesitated for a moment before following quietly behind him. She looked around as they went, but the trees grew thickly here, and she couldn't see anyone. She was starting to feel nervous.

Lane cleared the over grown brush that lie ahead and then he saw to figures. Their faces are shaded by the canopy, but are clothed in Red. "Thats them.."

(Absol had the idea to PM his posts to me so I could do it for him. So, here we go: )

Yoshi padded thru the underbrush, occasionally cutting thru a particularly thick patch of tall grass with his new Slash attack. "Figured we shouldn't use more energy running or teleporting."

Adara peered past him and looked at the two figures, unconsciously holding her breath as she studied them. She strained her ears, trying to pick up what they're saying.

"That's a good idea." Empathy said, carefully moving a low-hanging branch out of the way with her Psychic attack.
