well...for the tournament, hear me out guys, you can create a chart. Obviousely I mean a tournament grid and basically, whoever gets paired up should decide when to battle, but try to do it as soon as possible. Then one of the players update who won then whoever is in control of the grid will update the grid. or this reason however, the tournament may take a week or more but everyone can battle within his/her schedule. Just don't try to hold the entire tournament back though.

The only thing we still need to be positive on is the date to run the tournament. While it can take place over two days if necessary, I'd say that it will have to be sometime in November.

Don't worry. Eventually, these monthly tourneys will be always on the Xth Saturday of each month, the games will be predictable, and a 64-player bracket will be formed each time.

There will be a bracket where the winning players move forward and face one-another.

Although switching in and out of battle carefully, having only 1 pokemon at a time does as well. Its up to Ditto but most people don't have movesets that are based around double team battles...LIKE ME! FFFF :V

Maybe it's because in double battles, it is very difficult to come up with decisive strategy and know many of the strategies the opponents will use.

This is what walling pokemon are for. Quick attackers can be destroyed by bulky pokemon or pokemon with quick priority moves. Every competitive trainer has these to prevent such a thing. In double battles pokemon with attack that have hit everything moves like surf and earthquake dominate with the partner pokemon being flying type or having levitation ability.

Alot of teams strategys were made for single battle, particulary pokemon that use status ailments.
If we go to double battle it will render the polls everyone took completely pointless.

and completely off topic....is evasion clause in effect? =w=

See, that's what I've been messing around with. I've also found that you can set a minimum, but that's about it. I have found no way to modify the rules as to make your Pokémon that are not level 100 go to that level.

I know that, it's just when the poll was enacted and completed, the popular vote was for level 100. That's why this discussion is taking place. Unfortunately, to keep fairness in the rules, some arbitrary decisions do have to take place sometimes.

I think the date should be something reasonable, either in November or December, not 2009, but not on all school day either. Eh, why not, school days don't mean much, it could be on one.
Team- Infernape, Heatran, Torterra, Buizel(or Floatzel, if I get it in time), Weavile, and Noctowl.

Don't reveal your team!

It doesn't have to be a single day. It could be a week and each day is a new level of the bracket until it gets near the bottom.

Say 64 people join. Elimination style (where only the top places are determined):
Day 1: 32 battles (64 competitors)
Day 2: 16 battles (32 competitors)
Day 3: 8 battles (16 competitors)
Day 4: 4 battles (8 competitors)
Day 5: 2 battles (4 competitors)
Day 6: 1 battle (2 competitors) - 1st and second awarded

Say 64 people join. Full style (where all 64 places are determined):
Day 1: 32 battles (64 competitors)
Those who won battle for upper 32 places; those who lost battle for lower 32 places.
Day 2: 32 battles (64 competitors)
Now for each group of 16.
Day 3: 32 battles (64 competitors)
Now for each group of 8.
Day 4: 32 battles (64 competitors)
Now for each group of 4.
Day 5: 32 battles (64 competitors)
Now for each pair.
Day 6: 32 battle (64 competitors) - All 64 places awarded.

It might seem a bit cofusing, but only the judges have to worry about the bracket.

Okay, first of all, please stay on topic.

Now down to business... I'm still kind of undecided on how I'm gonna set it up, though I was leaning more towards a double elimination type bracket. Still not sure how I'm gonna pull that off. I'll probably daydream about it tomorrow during school.
Two more things: No, you will not be able to switch out one Pokémon for another in between battles. I have a way to know if you are (kind of). 2nd, you can vote next tournament if you want double or singles again. As of right now, it's going to be a lvl. 50 all 6 on 6.

Anyway, I have a suggestion: if you would like to talk about your teams (for whatever reason you may have...) take it to Pokémon General. I personally wouldn't, but I guess that's your choice.

Yes, you did tell me that it could, but never told me how. Tell me how, and if I get it to work, we will do level 100s. If it doesn't work, it stays at 50. I think that's fair

True true. I gave mine away years ago, but I never knew how to play.

Back on topic, are we limiting the amount of people that can join? And how many days will it be?

First of all, WHY?!

Second off, NO WAY! No hacking at all allowed.

We should probably work on discussing the appropriate prizes. Other than trading cards and special hacked Pokémon, I can't think of much else. Yoshi had a funny (but creative) idea, but I'll let him personally state that. It sounds kind of silly, so don't stress over it.

Thank you very much Kyon. We needed that.

Anyway, beyond stupid things like kirby-pikachu, would we be able to pick our hacked pokemon?

Pokemon cards? Nah, not my thing.

Maybe we can have alternative prizes like Game Boy and NES games.

The only reason I offered cards was because I had plenty to give away for free. Now, if you'd like to donate towards a more expensive prize, be my guest. I don't know about you, but I am not going to just hand out a $10 item to someone who just randomly finds the tournament video, has no idea who I am, joins, makes one or two posts, and wins.

I like the rules, and the removal of legendary pokemon makes it fair. Too bad I cant show off my black Rayquaza.(I DID NOT USE HAX TO GET IT!!!)

I am in, my preferences go toward no ubers, and all the other miscellaneous aforementioned rules.

I think the prize should be a hacked pokemon, of some sort. Like a magikarp with explosion. Or Snac from cats video...

"Snac"...that was definitely a FAIL on my part.

I think the hacks should be something that still makes sense, not something stupid like a Bidoof with Roar of Time. Maybe something that SHOULD learn a move but doesn't?

This sounds like it would be fun, haven't been able to battle lately.

6 on 6, and rounding to lv. 50 sounds good to me.

Should learn a move like sableye not knowing bite despite having teeth? Or should have a move like it would help them strategically, but they don't learn it?

1) Please use appropriate capitals and punctuation.
2) Yes, it would still be considered hacked, for you cheated to get it.
