Dexter awoke a couple of hours later at sunrise. He was used to waking up this early because he had to go and feed the Pokemon and tend to them.
"Huh." He said to himself in a quiet voice, "Looks like everyone is still asleep."
He looked out the window and could see a faint beam of light over Pewter City.
"Guess I'll go make breakfast for us."
He got up quietly, as to not awake the others and their Pokemon.
Anna Leigh spent a good part of the night calculating every move Red was good at. She broke down every single measurement she could comparing it to most other pokemon. Red was a strong Raichu considering he was raised by an inexperienced trainer at the time. Red woke up and looked at her hungrily. "It's okay. We'll eat soon."
"Might I ask why you're so intent on calculating each and every move?" Dexter asked Anna, who looked incredibly frustrated with all the math and calculating she was doing.
"You know, a trainer can overcome any weakness or obstacle with their Pokemon as long as they believe in each other."
"Each and every Pokemon has their own potential to be the best." He said, patting the Raichu on the head.
"I always have done statistics. I've never done anything else. After every battle, I pull out some paper and write down the numbers. I think it has something to do with trying to beat my sisters. They were always the best at something. Actually that's why I inist on being called Anna Leigh not Anna." She smiled at Dexter.
"Well then." "Why don't you come and eat breakfast before it gets cold." He suggested, pointing at a pot of hot soup on the stove.
"Ahh," Dexter yawned as he stretched, "it's weird being the only one up early in the morning. "Normally my grandparents would be up already."
He let out a small chuckle, remembering his family from Johto.
