Who is your favorite character and why? Mine is meta-knight because of his swift, speedy, yet effective attacks.

Y'know, after playing Brawl with my friend for the first time in who-knows-when, I realized that I'm actually pretty dang good with Pikachu. Way better than I am with Lucario, at least.
I guess that's what happens when you actually mess around with characters you haven't really played with much in Brawl...

Kirby: Well balanced character despite a light weight and have good smashes. Also he can annoy people to death with his famous taunt.
Peach: Good aerial attacks along with the ability to float.
Wolf: Good smashes and moves fast on air. Nothing is more satisfied than to hit a character constantly in the air or to land a spike sucessfully. His taunt "What's the matter, scared?" is just plain badass.
Now my top two favorites are Sonic and Pikachu. Sonic because he's, well, obviously the fastest guy in the game. Plus he has a good special moveset in my opinion. And Pikachu since he's great for spamming Thunder Jolts while recovering or just spamming them in general. xP Plus again, Pikachu's quick. I think I have a new preference for fast characters. 030
I've switched around a lot. I'll list off a few characters that I can remember maiming:
Olimar (Current main)
Mario
Diddy Kong
Wolf
Toon Link
Before Mario, I used to to do Random all the time, but then I decided just to focus on one character again.
Roy (Current Melee main)
Ness
Peach
Zelda/Sheik
first Super smash: Pikachu (At the time Pikachu was awesome in the anime, TCG, and video games... )
Melee: Sheik (I remember battling my cousin. we used to always be neck and neck when he used Falco)
Brawl: Sheik (Although they weakened her, I still hold strong with sheik, however, now I have to use Zelda sometimes.)
For a while, I've been finding Lucario to be useful, with its mid-air down attack. More recently, however, Captain Falcon has proven himself as a good character, with smash attacks that deal about 20% coolerdamage, which adds up quickly. At times, I use Jigglypuff for its amazing aerial mobility and side-B.
I find Captain Falcon to be one of the more powerful in the series, not to mention that his Pawnch rivals Chuck Norris' roundhouse kick. He's fast, powerful, and awesome, but his lack of range makes him and easy target for people like Fox, Ness, and Zelda. Nonetheless, he makes up for it with his consistency of killing people left and right.
1 – PHANTOMxTRAINERDefiantly Snake, i mean a rocket launcher and grenade's :3
1 – Wulf CinesI'd say Marth or Sonic. I pretty much just like using swift light characters that can hit hard before they fly off screen.
1 – Wulf CinesI got used to Lucario pretty quick. Still miss Mewtwo, though. Second would have to be Link.
1 – Wulf CinesDear goodness, I like more than one in Brawl. Let me see, my most favorite (non-hacked Brawl) are Charizard, Koopa, Lucario, Wolf, Fox, and I guess that's about it. Not to say I don't like Link or Pikachu, I just have a thing for the specific furries and scalies that appeared in Brawl, that I like the most. And Mewtwo's definitely missing, I agree with anyone who says that.
Since I feel like it, I'll make a top 5.
5. Toon Link - Great agility, and hits hard.
4. Mario - He's really balanced, so it's easy to use him.
3. Sonic - Attacks super quickly, and easy to do combos with.
2. Ness - He's got many ranged attacks, plus they are super strong.
1. Lucas - Lucas is just an all around great character. He's weaker than Ness, but his attacks are so much easier to control, plus they still do good damage. Also, Lucas attacks MUCH quicker than Ness.
You know what, here's my list of ALL characters in my hierarchy.
1. Mr. Game and Watch - I've always seemed to do well with him. Sure, his moves are a bit disjointed and his moves are a little slow, I've managed to work some combinations with his moves. It's a simple character with a wide variety of uses for me. I don't know about the rest of you, though.
2. Olimar - I used to despise him, because I wasn't able to understand how the Pikmin worked. Now that I'm able to use them, I've come to really like Olimar. Nice moves, sufficient damage, wide range. What else do I need?
3. Toon Link - A pretty nifty character. I just wish his side smash was a little stronger and had more knockback. Otherwise, his agility is nice, and his other moves deal decent damage and knockback.
4. Kirby - The first character I ever used in the SSB series, and I fell in love instantly. He flies, and deals nice damage. I just love using Kirby.
1. Pikachu - No real reason. Maybe because it's Pokemon. In any case, he's easy to use.
2. Yoshi - As a kid, I used to spam Ground Pound with him. I've learned better.
3. Luigi - Again, just because I got used to using him in-game.
4. Pit - I recently saw his technique and he could very well make it up to the frequently used list.
5. Marth - Quick, fast, and strong. See Pit.
1. Fox
2. Falco
3. Wolf
4. Meta Knight
5. Ice Climbers
6. Pokemon Trainer
7. Jigglypuff
8. Link
9. Sonic
10. Diddy Kong
11. Donkey Kong
12. Wario
13. Lucario
14. King Dedede
15. Mario
16. Samus
17. Captain Falcon
18. Ike
19. Lucas
20. Zelda
21. Shiek
1. Bowser - Let's just start with this: I don't care how strong they are, but I HATE heavy characters. And with Bowser as the heaviest of them all, you can see where I'm going with this, right?
2. Peach - I just can't figure out her moves, no matter how hard I try...
3. R.O.B. - Same with Peach.
4. Snake - Same with Peach.
5. Ness - Unlike Lucas, I just...don't like Ness. I feel that you REALLY need to know Ness well if you can play him well.
6. Ganondorf - Yet another heavy character...
You know, I feel like making a top 5 as well.
#1: BOWSER!
Prob, GPFTW? Slow and heavy doesn't neccesarily mean bad. Bowser's got tons of versatile moves like his regular B, up+B, and my favorite, Bowser Bomb (down+B). His smashes are also epically strong.
#2: Lucario ![]()
I don't know why, but Lucario always seems to win me the match with his "Damage = Power" Aura Sphere. Good smashes, and a sick recovery makes him worthy of #2.
#3: Donkey Kong
I seem to have a soft spot for ultra-heavy, ultra-powerful characters like Bowser and DK. B is basically a glorified smash attack, and down+B is an excellent move for ramping up damage. His final smash is pretty epic as well.
#4: Lucas
Despite being a poor recovery, up+B is a great tool for chasing the smash ball. Up+A, on the other hand, is a great smash attack. And don't get me started on his final smash, it's absolutely epic.
And last but not least...
#5: Mario
No matter how many times he appears in a game, you can't say no to an all-time classic like Mario. Cape (side+B) is probably my favorite strategy against projectile users, and his final smash is a good stagesweeper.
