What i meant was with 4 people playing it still grows to 1gb and then crashes. Know as a memory leak. Not really that there is a max players it can handle.

There IS a max players entry to limit the amount of players on the server. This'll keep it from going too out of control.

Also look at the right that is the resorse usage for only the minecraft server.

Yes disk I/O is the red and write to the hard disk. I/O means Input Output respectively.

We could find a mods that just keep them from being given bt still allow them to be spawned/crafted. I also heard of a mod that gets rid of creepers so we'll should really check that out <.<

Since it seems like everyone will be OP'd by default until proven unworthy, we should just get rid of the list.

This mod does not apply because it is not offical server soft where its a 3rd part one. Also still waiting for the map files.

Whoever "SupernovaSteven" is, you've been banned from both servers by username and IP. This is the fourth time our servers have been griefed and you're the only unknown user on it. Nice try, hero.

I've got good news and bad news.

Good news: The new client uses MCRegion built-in, boosting performance greatly.

Bad news: The server probably will, and because I used the old form of MCRegion (The official ones seems to have some modifications) we'll probably have to start a new world.


Hopefully this time we can keep it permanent.



EDIT: Went in there and it was all different, but I was far from the spawn point (tested with /kill) and I still had my stuff. Not sure what to make of this. We should try exploring later.





But let's look at the bright side: The real fun in minecraft is building all of this.

Beta 1.3 is amazing. McRegion (Which is actually the mod that Rando suggested way back) is now official and it's very fast. My own server loads in only a couple of seconds, compared the the 20-or-so seconds it took before. Is the official VR server using the official client now, or is it just the backup server? If the VR server isn't using it, it should be.

Looking at the thread title, it seems like they've abandoned the "Official" server.

the private server is vanilla SMP (no /give, but we do allow /tp every now and then to get stuff after someone dies), and hoarding items is strictly against the rules. all items need to be placed in the central item hub within the ranbro hideout unless it's somehow too inconvenient to get there by normal means
also, JAD and I are the only ops because the original intent of the server was for recording our LP

We seem to have three, it seems. The original VR server which is now an abandoned amusement park, JAD's private server, and RK's which so far seems new and unused.

I would also like to mention it was I that got the many music discs on JAD's server, due to my hunting abilities.

I'm not sure what you mean, since minecraft server uses a custom port. Are you having trouble with port forwarding?

Were going to be switching the server arcetecture from VPS/Vm to BSD Jails so we may be able to have a permante MC server here on the server because jails don't waste memory like vps do.

That's good to hear. The best part about Minecraft being on Java is that we can easily do stuff like this without too many compatibility problems.
