It does seem like that would happen, since people now a days a easily impressionable. It wouldn't be surprising if panic alone started a downward spiral...

Ah well, I'm just gonna sit at home and watch what happens. If panic ensues, sweet, people are more scared than I am. If not, well whatever we made it to Dec 22, 2012.

Since the dawn of time, people have been choosing arbitrary dates and numbers that predict Mystery Disaster X. They were all wrong in the past, they will be wrong today, and they will be wrong tomorrow. (ignoring the fact that the sun will eventually die off, killing everything on Earth)

That said, I would advise staying indoors on December 21st if possible. There are plenty of people who believe in this thing and may indulge in reckless and harmful behavior. The end of the Mayan calender is 'the big one' for the-sky-is-falling predictions, so there may be something to fear from other human beings.

Besides general human ******tery, nothing magical, mysterious, divine, demonic, or unexplainable will happen. There is nothing to fear.

So always deny it.

Guess I can go around asking random people who stop by work who actually believes it.

I don't believe the world will end on the 21st. Why?

New Mayan Calendar Unearthed in the Ruins of Xultun

"Newly discovered wall writings found in Guatemala show the famed Maya culture's obsession with cycles of time. But they also show calendars that go well beyond 2012, the year when the vanished civilization, according to popular culture, expected the end of the world. Some of them include dates corresponding to a time after the year 3500. "

I'm not afraid of the Doomsday. I'm afraid of the people who believe in the event. Just think, having thousands of believers thinking its the last day of their life. What would they do? If they think everyone's going to die anyways, do you think they would care about what they do the day before? I'm going to stay home for those days just to be safe.

So, if my geography is correct, based on where the Mayan civilization was located, and by some cruel joke to humanity the world were to truly end on the 21st, it would end on midnight of the 22nd in Central Time. That would be 1am for me.

I have some plans for one minute before that time.

The only thing I'm holding my breath for is all of the stupid things believers of the "prophecy" will do, and how that'll affect us after the "apocalypse". This is when the gullibility of certain people will be put into a harsh and potentially catastrophic light.
I did hear (though my sources are most likely a joke) that there could be a massive solar flare which may disable communications in a few regions of the world. And it could me more hullabaloo.

Although a solar flare happening... the chances of it happening on that day I'm pretty sure are low, but it will screw up satellites and electricity. It would be expensive getting everything back in working order. That would be a way to end the world.

Nah, the true thing is : Peoples think that if they are on this hill while the world ends, they will be saved because this place will be spared by the apocalypse.
So, a lot of peoples come from various places to go on the top of this hill, and the police closed the area because there was too much peoples there lol

It's 22:23p.m here, and I am going to laugh a lot when the apocalypse won't happen 'cause they will all feel stupid and naive.

No need to panic, I got this:

There. We should be good for another three days. That should be enough time for everyone to forget what an apocalypse is.

I bet the guy who spent all his money on a bunker feels pretty sad now.

And now for the official theme song of the September 2013 babies. Of which I hope there are few.

Ba de ya, say do you remember? Ba de ya. That night in December. Ba de ya. We thought the world would end that day.
And we say ba de ya. And we were wrong as ever. Ba de ya. The scar we'll have forever. Ba de ya. That's why our child's here todaaaaaaaay!

I'm so glad I only knew 1 person who believed in this. I bet all the people I saw on those doomsday documentaries feel devastated and lost. Hahaha.

I bet someone will write a song that at least mentions the 21st and its implications.

I'm sure you'll live, even if your relationship doesn't. It's not like the world is literally crumbling around your feet.

Well yeah, of course I didn't mean literally but idk I really liked her, but ever since that night she stopped texting me, and we saw each other in Dunkin Donuts the other day. She just ran away. 12/21/12 was just not a successful night for me
