I want to know how to get fatter. I'm actually jealous of all the large people in the world. I feel slightly underweight myself, but that's probably because I don't work out.

I'm a little chunky for my height (at least according to the doctor) but it's nothing too major. I kind of eat like a pig though so I expect that I'm going to get even chunkier once my metabolism falls behind my eating habits. XP

For the record, I stand at 5'9" and weigh ~150 pounds. I do work out...every now and then...so maybe that's why? I dunno, I just have sort of weighed around that much for a while now. Although I should mention a disclaimer that I don't have that much muscle from which weight can stem...so the weight is pretty much all fat.

In other news: Now that my high school has confirmed that I indeed attained valedictorian status, I'm debating whether or not I sign up for presenting the valedictorian graduation speech...I feel like if I did I'd procrastinate on it so hard that it would end up being terrible...but meh.

I've cut to 120 so I guess that's not bad... I have 10 days to lose 7 lbs, which is not bad at all. That's not factoring that I completely let myself go whenever there is food around me. and there is bound to be food around me this weekend.

I haven't had that yet, which is surprising because I have worst speech problems. Whenever anyone says "Enjoy *subject*!" I usually respond with "Thanks" and keep it moving. Probably because I just like to avoid talking to people in general.

I can't get the "deep, serious person" voice out of my head for Scotty even if that's nowhere close to his actual voice.

Hah, it is so not serious.

My voice certainly has gotten deeper, but it's still pretty high and I have too many flubs to have a confident sounding voice. I like my singing voice more, so sometimes I'll sing all the thing I want to say.

I won't be caught dead singing. I started liking my voice once it got deeper, but it sounds terrible if I'm singing.

I quoted this before and I'll do it again.

"Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." -Mark Twain

No matter how physically old my body will get I'll try to keep the mindset I have now. Age is just a manmade concept, what's real is that I'll always keep striving to be better than the man I was yesterday.

I don't even know how old I feel. I'm in my final year of high school and so I know I'm only technically a minor but I have a job where I'm in an important role, I had to file my taxes this year, I make car payments for my insurance and I pay my cell phone bill all while playing Leaf Green on my Game Boy. I got my acceptance letter for university and my parents were gushing over it all ("Oh my baby has grown up so quickly!") I'm going on a school trip to another continent in only 4 days and yeah. I'm at a transition stage in my life, and so far I've been enjoying it!

Unrelated, but I just recently realized that the units on E = mc^2 are kg*m^2/s^2 = Joules, like any other unit of energy, and that the derivitave of area of a circle (pi*r^2) equals the circumference (2*pi*r). And I used to say I was good at math, ha.

Wow, either people get their wisdom teeth pulled out late or I just did mine early. I had my wisdom teeth pulled out the summer before I became a high school freshman. Not because I needed it, but just because my parents wanted me to have them removed for some reason. Hmm. But either way, it was not an enjoyable experience and if you can avoid it, do so. I had no will of my own as an 8th grader so I really didn't care. Plus I had no precedent so I wasn't really sure what to expect.

I said this before, but I reeeeeeally need to get off Reddit. Maybe it's just the YouTube-related SRs that I hang out on, but I feel like every other thread I see there is either somebody complaining that they joined two weeks ago and aren't Pewdiepie's rival yet, or asking for pirated game links. Meanwhile, the few people who are legitimately trying to be nice and`or helpful get downvoted to oblivion anyway.

On a relatively happier note, I got back to school from spring break in one piece. Now I have about three hours before I have to go to sleep and start focusing on that crazy stuff called "work" again, yay.

Besides, that's totally wrong anyway. He didn't say anything about the rain. I don't mind.

I felt a bit nervous trying to demo a newly-written Java program to my lecturer. I'm bad at presentations, to be honest... Every time I try to perform or present something, I have... issues.

Java ruined my online chemistry homework.

I am very technologically dumb. I would try taking a CS class, but my friend said he dropped out after the first week because they expected him to know too much stuff beforehand.

...seriously, how are you supposed to learn this stuff beforehand? If your high school didn't offer the course, then you're basically screwed. I also get very frustrated when stuff breaks, so maybe CS isn't a good idea for now.

Not all CS courses are the same. Some, like mine, takes things slowly at the beginning and assumes zero programming knowledge.

In my experience with Java in a browser, it ruins everything and is one of the leading causes of malware getting into a computer while not having enough permissions to run anything you actually care about. I hope its days are numbered.

As for CS classes, UNLV has the same problem. For me, the introductory CS class was a breeze, but that was only because I've taken a number of CS classes in high school and was into personal programming before that. I've seen a few people drop the class because the teacher is too strict with stuff that really only matters to CS majors, like the exact number of spaces in a table or the clarity of the comments.

One thing you learn from going to a public school; no one is going to hold your hand through everything. They're just going to make sure you can pass by and move you along. That's why with or without a pre-requisite course you have to do some studying on your own. It also depends on how you learn and who the teacher is. There's quite a few factors in getting a quality education for yourself.

Learning it for me was quite easy, but only because I learn things fast. This has been my only year of looking at any programming and I'm the top student in the class even though some have been in engineering for 4 years. And it's mostly because I take time out of my life to play around with code to see what works and what doesn't. If you actually do decide to do it, even though I thought your thing was like lame rocks and stuff, you gotta be patient and roll with the punches.

It sounds like the local ice cream van is still playing Christmas tunes. I had to get several clips and stitch them together thanks to several helicopters droning by. The songs were interspersed with common fare like "Waltzing Matilda," "La Cucaracha," and "Home on the Range."

Clips include such classics as:

  • O Christmas Tree/O Tanenbaum
  • Joy to the World
  • Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer
  • Santa Claus is Coming to Town
  • O Come All Ye Faithful
I heard a few others like "Jingle Bells" and "The Twelve Days of Christmas" but wasn't able to capture those.

I did nothing today only because I did so much yesterday.

First I went to the gym
Attended a student panel where I had to answer questions about technology in the class room with other students at my college, I was told I did fine but I felt like an idiot who had no idea what was being talked about.
Of course the was free food there like sandwich platters and soda at the event and I got a 25$ Gift Card to the school cafe and afterwards they brought out the girll so I ate even more food.
It was so nice out I decided to walk at a nearby hiking trail which was nice.
I also had to help set up the media club set up the film festival where I also got free food. The film festival was cool because we had a professional film director as a speaker and there were some interesting films, some were good, some were hilariously bad and some lingered on for way to long but it was a really fun experience overall. I also took home a bunch of leftover soda.

I once read a Jesus fanfiction. It was the worst writing I've ever seen and I will never again mention it by name.

Makes me wonder if people wrote that even during olden times people did that.

Like someone write a slash fic between Jesus and Leonardo DiVinchi while on the Mayflower.

Toronto Airport. iPads. EVERYWHERE.

There are seating terminals by all of the gates in Terminal C that have iPad Minis at them. And there are TONS of them. Like, more iPad seats than regular seats. They've managed to make "killing 2 and a half hours before the flight" actually enjoyable. And it makes me not look forward to the cheap-ass AirTran flight I'm waiting for.

Electrical tape is complete rubbish. My iPod cable is sort of broken (well, I think it's my sister's but she refuses to take it) and about a week ago I wrapped some electrical tape around it. Today, it's just slid off of the part it's supposed to be wrapped around! So, with no more tape on-hand, I wrapped a band-aid around it. And that works brilliantly.

Does anyone remember when this video had like 30,000 views and that Korean dance team video dancing to this song had 10,000 views? I do. Was about a month or less before it blew up.

What he's done? All he did was write a song with a funny music video. Plenty of those exist. Plenty more will come. And the YouTube Viral Bug will bite the lucky few.

What's annoying about it is that it makes simple Americans feel like they know K-Pop when the genre has so much more to offer.

This. Definitely this. I've received a little exposure to K-Pop through a few specific folks, and there's a heck of a lot more variety to it than just Gangnam Style. The same can be said to those who dislike American pop from the past few years (which I personally think is an improvement over much of last decade's pop).

Today I learned how to rip Wii games from the discs. Now to unpack them in Dolphin and see if I can find anything fun in the program files.

Oh and I started looking into Wii development, too. Probably one of the least useful skills I can have but this should be an interesting experience. "What did you do this summer?" "I tried to program a Wii game." "Wait what?"

Edit: Related, today I learned that there are GameCube games which are bigger than some Wii games. o-o

Edit 2: Super Mario Galaxy ROM hacks. I wonder if those are possible. Probably not.

Revenge of the angry kitty!

Ours has been using the litter box in...and around...the box, which unfortunately sits on a wood floor. Guess it's time to sand and revarnish the entire floor, and maybe make some catburgers. Only not.
