This is my week exactly. I like these days off but this is getting kind of crazy. I can't remember the last time we've taken up 12 snow days. This is Tennessee weather though I guess. One day it can be a nice 70 degrees (Farenheit) and the next it could be around 40-60...then back up, then down lower. It's crazy sometimes. O.O

I'm finally over my cold. I think. It started out as a horrible fever and now it's been reduced to minimal coughing. I almost feel good again.
Funny thing about that, too. My mom said I started to feel better around 8 PM last night. The Beatles tribute came on at 8 PM last night. Haha, no relation at aaaalll~

I recently got Adventure Time season 1 and 2 on DVD and I'm loving them. :3 It has a lot of episodes I had never seen and it's nice to see the roots of the series. I bought them at Wal-Mart for $20.00 each and they each have 26 episodes and some bonus content!

Personally I think the show got better as went along and it's actually pretty hard for me to watch the older episodes compared to what the show is now.

Also next month Season 3 is coming out on DVD.

Oh wow. I've never had that problem really. I like the show in general and a lot of my favorite episodes are from the first few seasons.

it's a blizzard outside in PA...

I'm getting tired of shoveling snow. this is probably the 5th time we've been snowed in.... Dear God, what is going on?
then again, if there's any consolation, I'm spending more quality time with my siblings and parents.... we're always so busy any other time...

snow can be so beautiful.... up until you have to traverse in it.

Ha, screw YouTube's birthday, you have a better chance of striking gold than getting a worthwhile YT update.

But today WAS the first day of Katsucon at the National Harbor. It was just like how I remembered Otakon from 2 years ago, only smaller and the hotel looks real fancy. Now that I'm a convention novice I know my way around better and I'll be able to take in the full experience~! These next two days will be a blast!

Next up, I have Catholic State Championships today! My goal that I've been training for ever since last year is finally in sight. The tournament runs for two days, I just have to win 2 matches with no losses today to qualify for Sunday.. If I win Sunday, I'm New York's Catholic State Champ! I'm so excited, I got the first seed!

Well, I had my first experience with having drunk friends in my dorm room. It was funny for the most part; like when one of them took my umbrella, opened it, and pretended to be Mary Poppins. He then proceeded to spawl out on the floor and lick one of my friends on her leg. (not to mention he was so loud that he woke up half the people on my end of the floor)

And this is why I'm never getting drunk by booze. (being love-drunk is perfectly fine though haha)

Well i got in my first 10 battles in for the X&Y Day1 Beta test Tournament or whatever its called. But i did find 2 Japanese players cheating in it already (Made me so mad), the first one somehow read my every move and also somehow choose the right mons to counter the ones i choosed. He takes like minute and half to make 1 move.
The other one had 6 rotoms (All forms) and to my knowledge you cant have more than 1 pokemon in your team that dosnt share the same dex number. Unless im missing something. Otherwise im doing pretty good so far.

My options for the weekend:
  • Bravely Default
  • Etrian Odyssey Untold
  • Transferring more stuff to Pokémon Bank, which can be tedious but productive (especially weeding out a lot of hacks from Gen IV)
  • Studying for an exam
  • Working on site stuff
  • Staring into space
The last one is winning for me, but ideally I want to do the Bank and site stuff throughout the weekend and study for my exam on Monday during my long break.

Well i got my 20 battles in for Day 1 of the XY beta test battle thing. But seriously i hate these japan players, they somehow can bend the rules in there favor. They all can somehow read my every move. (But they rage quit if one of there pokemon go down) But i think im done with this thing, i just wanted to get the Maximum battles in the first day cause im just trying this thing out to see how good i can do. Current status: Wins-14 Loses-10

Just a few minutes ago I was playing through the Savage Dungeon (the really long one with floors and floors of enemies underneath that big rock on Outset Island) in the Wind Waker HD, trying to get the Hero's Charm. I got quite a few floors taken down. I eventually got down to having only one heart left and finished a few more floors without taking damage, but then came the Redead. They never bothered me in Ocarina of Time, but their piercing wail in WW is just...unsettling. I seemed to do pretty well against them by using the hoookshot to latch on and pull myself up to them then slash away, but I have to be fast about it. Then I got to a room with two Stalfos and three redead. I cautiously took out the two stalfos while managing to have 1/4 of a heart left, but then a Redead caught me off guard, latched on and gave me a game over. I had a feeling I was close to that Hero's Charm too. :<

That's almost been my days for the past few weeks. I should be either writing the sheet music to a symphonic orchestra song or working on my artwork (or maybe even homework... no) but all I've REALLY been doing was listening to music thinking about which one I should work on and how I should do it.

Then I give up, play a video game, or watch some Jeopardy. Ahh, the simple life~ That song is due by the end of February, too. I'm so screwed~

Productive things I've done today: Practiced clarinet, trained with my gym team, developed a new style of plucking with my bass guitar.
Productive things I wish I did: Work on writing sheet music, clean room, any/all homework, drawing.
What I did instead: Search for Beatles related songs on Rock Band, thought long and hard how I was going to do productive things.

I think this was a very good weekend. I'll get to doing those things some other time. I hope.

Well Friday I went to see Son of God with Oasis, my church's youth group and yesterday, I went to Nashville to see the Predators play the Winnipeg Jets with my church's mens' group. Son of God was a great movie, but hard to watch at times. The part that got me was when Jesus was carrying his cross and he kept falling down from all that the Romans did to him and then when his hands were nailed onto the cross. It's not meant to be a thing taken lightly though. It's a movie that while being tough to watch towards the end was great in the way it portrayed Jesus' life and served its purpose well. The hockey game on the other hand, was the first one I had ever been to. It was a long trip considering I live on the northwestern part of the sate, but it was VERY fun and exciting to watch. I had a great weekend! Oh, also, I'm out of school due to icy weather again. I'm a bit happy about it and a little upset at the same time. I like being out, but I hate having make-up days... -_-

Well I found this amazing song a few days ago. It's Regain Control by Shirobon and I lutely love it! The vocoders are really enjoyable. I couldn't get the video to embed right for some reason, so here's the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKXpauDIGjo

I like that YouTube started letting any random user use custom thumbnails on their videos, but I always have to laugh when I see someone try to fit a whole billboard on something that's about an two inches across in search results.

Just a reminder for most folks living in North America, be sure to set your clocks forward by an hour tonight, as daylight-saving time begins tomorrow.

For those living in Europe, it'll be a couple more weeks.

What. We're lucky to hit the *checking Celsius to Fahrenheit* 20s so don't you be complaining!

I'll wake up and need to set everything forward that doesn't automatically do that and it's a pain. Ugh. And I need to set 2 alarms because I can't be late for work. Spring time change is frustrating.

The only 2 clocks I have to change I can deal with later. My alarms and important things all work automatically. Ah, technology~

I'm actually a little frustrated that it's getting warmer. Soon I won't be able to wear my favorite 8-pocketed coat... Aww...

I live in one of the highest residential area in the state and the snow seems to be refusing to melt!

Seriously my neighborhood still has a foot of snow but when I go into town it's almost all gone.

Proof that weather can fluctuate wildly in my area.
Today the high was a nice 92 F
Tomorrow...the low is supposed to go down to 25 F. Yay winter.

I just getting an email from school telling me that we're getting a blizzard warning over the course of tomorrow and where to check that we still have classes.

My school NEVER closes for weather.

This should be interesting.

Edit: so far three classes cancelled, and I just heard that the whole school officially decided to shut down. I'm a little worried now.

I think a picture best summarizes the weather here:

5mw73Trl.jpg

(don't mind the underexposure; it looked fine on the camera's screen. also, whoops, it's crooked)

Snow all the way to the back of my 8-ish-foot-long covered porch... that almost never happens.

Also, the wind has created some interesting snow-forms on the deck out back:

qjvK1AFl.jpg

UPDATE: According to my dad, it's currently impossible to get a car out of the driveway (the snow there is about knee-height), the side of the house that everything is blowing from has chest-height snow, and the forecast overnight is "blizzard." Oh joy.

Aye aye. Actually pretty close to where Nismo took his picture, apparently.

Couple of the dormitory buildings are out of electricity now, by the way. Most of the school's web sites, including all the online syllabi, are down too. I'm assuming at least my afternoon classes are still on, but they should be very, very interested.

It feels very strange seeing a relatively inactive general conversational thread... Usually things move really quickly as soon as I stop looking at it.

Then again, maybe it's because we're small and tight? (Must...find...icebreaker...)

You get that feeling too? That's why I hate going to school sometimes. I sit in a classroom for several boring hours and then I see VR has an explosion of activity I missed out on. Giratina ain't coming to me any sooner!

Ooh, icebreakers? Well I'm not too good with that but... what does Springtime mean to you? For me it's just constant allergies and with my asthma that means even MORE time inside than I normally spend. And they want to encourage me to go outside during school? Pfft. The closest they can get with that would be the field trip to Philly, but that's well a way's away, probably later April.

I usually have some wicked allergies in the spring, but I'm away at school and surrounded by some different plant life this year so maybe it'll be different.

Oh, who am I kidding.

Seeing the temperature jump about 40 degrees is always nice, too.

I'm still sad the weather's getting hotter now. Tomorrow might be the last day I get to wear my green puffy coat... I will have to search endlessly for a 10-pocketed spring jacket. But then again, the cold has been bothering me whenever I want to wear my headphones, but not my hat. I can never really be satisfied, heh.

I'm privileged to have some type of allergy or asthma symptom for every season.....

Hmm... it's funny hearing people saying they are having a field trip to philly. I live 30 minutes from there, so it isn't much of a trip. But speaking of trips, Delaware, one of the smallest states... I just recently learned has a beach XD. guess that since we always go to the boarder of Delaware to visit my big sister, my idea of Delaware was limited to just the city of Wilmington.

Well, needless to say, a day or so later, she broke up with me over the phone via text. Worst. Summer. Ever.

Icebreakers...I had so many of those during my first few days at college. They pretty much forced icebreakers on us to get to know people on my side of the floor. Oddly enough, I made more friends on the other side of the floor.

Remember, in college dorms, freshman year is the best chance to make friends. Besides classes, it becomes tougher to mingle as you move up in standing as you're usually put in the same dorm with those in your standing, and those folks are less willing to mingle as they acquire friends.
