Honestly, I wish you the best of luck with her. A relationship is a hell of a thing if it goes well.

I hope everything went well for you, Phanny-man. Seeing love happening makes me smile almost every time. Plus, it's new material for my shipping journal. So many possible fanfics...

I've just discovered today that I really AM a bit of an old soul. I'm naturally attracted to things that are older. Most of the songs that I listen to are from the 80s and before. I read through very old archives and reminisce about times I wasn't a part of. Sometimes I'll even hoard old technology.
I even have a bit of an "utter disdain for anything popular." Maybe Quad was right, maybe I AM a hipster.

So has anyone done anything interesting this summer?

Nah, it's been too hot. To add on to JD's question, is anyone going on holiday?

When it comes to music, as long as it doesn't get too close to metal (of which I find too chaotic for listening), or too old (using headphones means hard stereo or low fidelity recordings are painful to listen to - that would probably put it to about the Beatles and so as the limit.).

I have a special fondness for many 80s music.

I also love Michael Jackson's music. Im also pretty fine with many music these days as long as it's no angsty rap.

I got my original taste from my parents and then I branched off into my own path. The Beatles truly ARE the limit too. The dang mix of All You Need Is Love hard pans the sound to the LEFT EAR in the beginning. And the bass isn't equalized so my ears just feel off balance! Sometimes they give me a reason to use the "Mono" setting on my iPod.

This summer I didn't do too much. I mainly prepped for college and learned more about my music and computer science majors. I didn't get to visit a college, so that was a bust, but SUNDAY is when the fun begins. That's when I leave for New Vegas City to get my Beatles LOVE BABY~! I'm so so so so sooo excited! This year has been very magical for me, I don't know what could possibly make it better.

My summer is pretty much winding down, as the majority was done at the very beginning. I was in Budapest and Amsterdam for around a week each, and both are phenomenal cities. I spent my last two years of high school in Berlin, though I'll be attending college in the U.S. Europe, I shall return to you soon enough! Hopefully. Turt, I hope that you have a blast, as I have always been a huge advocate of traveling and enjoying different parts of the world.

And as for music, I think I fit with the general trend of this thread. A lot of my favorite genres of music and bands tend to fall in the 80's, though there is a lot of older music I enjoy. My grandparents have a strong passion for big band and jazz, which has rub off on me after years of exposed listening. Give me some Ella Fitzgerald or Billie Holidays and I am a happy man.

I am not to subtly trying to keep the conversation on summer and music as people lamenting their singleness if depressing. X_X Keep your chins up fellows.

I still have a lot of work to do before the next semester starts as well. :c

I also had a ton of luck street passing people in Nevada recently. My count went from 6 (4 of which were spot pass people >_>) to 18.

I'm going to say that this (you *could* get someone arrested for threats like that) really had to do with who reported and how they probably blew it out of proportion. Also, school shootings and stabbing crimes have really gone up so I'm not surprised someone took this offensively and reported. I agree he should be released, but the justice system is often tampered and justice isn't always served because of biased people and stereotypes.

From my pessimistic view, age is just the number of years you've survived in the world of horrors we live in. Growth has to do with the individual. Yes, age can help chart that, but it is not really a factor.

He was talking about age within the range of a few years. Numbered years don't dictate how we feel or change. So of course aging from 14 to 15 wouldn't feel any different compared to a prepubescent age.

I feel like I've matured a fair bit since I came here (and even retained it in my half-year away from VR), so I guess I can accredit some of that to being able to break out of my shell here on VR and actually talk to people, even if it is over the Internet. That was most definitely the greatest week of my entire life. Period. Done. No arguments.

When I settle down many years from now it's gotta be in the desert. Desert weather is perfect for me. It was 100+ degrees every single day and I felt fine. There's enough direct sunlight to keep me warm throughout the day. And just the right amount of breeze to keep me chilled, just enough that I can wear a jacket. In the SUMMER. I CAN'T ASK FOR MORE.

Now that city, it was like living in a dream. The architecture was something I could not imagine. I don't even know how I can describe it. Some of it even scared me. Anything I saw that I found amusing or interesting in any way I took a picture of. I probably have over 300 or so. I had to delete some space on my drive to fit them all

Then there was LOVE. The Beatles LOVE, practically the first thing we did after we got there. It was the ultimate experience for any Beatles fan, and now I can call myself a true one. It was the ultimate balance of trippy, funny, touchy, and sexy (Whenever Ringo's voice blasted through those speakers behind me. OH, YES~) And because it was my birthday the performers got EVERYONE in the audience to say it to me~ I even got a free program and show picture!

The rest of the trip was sightseeing, sightseeing, sightseeing on top of more sightseeing sightseeing sightseeing (And 3 other Cirque shows). There was just so much to SEE. Although I didn't find one cactus to hug... aww...

Before I knew it the trip had ended. Sunday rolled around quite fast and I couldn't believe it. So when I was just taking my last few pictures of the amazing mountainous landscape, this ridiculous FAT GUY just runs in to me. He had to be the absolute goofiest person I've ever seen. But he was a good goofy, I hope I can run into him again one day.

So now I'm sitting here, doing nothing but recovering from jet lag. While my heart gently weeps. (And I can finally say I know what jet lag is! Finally being able to experience something other than EST... it was a really big deal to me.

What a truly great week it has been. I got an entirely new will to live. I'd give anything to go back. (But after I'm 18. There's just ONE Cirque I can't see and it's making me so ANGRY. ACROBATICS!)

DSC_0008.JPG

Also, Sunday is my new favorite day of the week. Sorry Wednesday, you just don't compare anymore~

This is me too. Well, minus doodling. All I do daily is work, play games, work, sleep, eat, play games, refresh my e-mail inbox 30 times a minute hoping for something other than spam to get excited about...I need to go to college, if for no other reason, just to have some purpose in my life. With only 13 days left until I leave for college, I'm a bit concerned about not finishing things before the school year starts.

-I have a 300-page book to read and I've only read the first 30 pages.
-I need to provide a few textbooks for my roommate, but I'm worried that I won't have them here on time.
-My Let's Fail of Rhythm Heaven Fever will probably have to get put on hold when the semester starts.
-I doubt I'll finish reviewing Chemistry or Calc before I can go back.

And with all of this, my parents want to go on a vacation with me. Of course I'll probably have a great time, but I don't think I'll be able to focus on what I need to do.

I'm glad you're able to focus on what's imporant to you. That's a very good trait to have. I'm sure everything'll work out as long as you work hard enough. If you must go on vacation, really enjoy it. From what I've seen, it doesn't get a whole lot more fun after college, be sure to enjoy the freedom and not-full-independence

I've got some odd 13 days left, and I still have to finish my Physics summer assignment and a writing assignment on the Iliad, but it's nothing I can't handle. Though I will be on another trip from tomorrow to next Wednesday, so I'll have to try to get some of that done within the vacation period...

Somehow it always happens like this, doesn't it? :I

My sister's leaving for college on the 26th. It's kinda crazy when I think about it. Sure, Oswego isn't exactly halfway across the country or anything, but... still.

And I DID it! With my limited knowledge of technology and installing new things, I fixed my outdated scanner! I guess this means I don't have to take pictures of my drawings anymore. Oh how I'll miss searching for the camera, playing with the settings, getting angry at the lack of natural sunlight... oh forget it, THIS IS AMAZING. It's the simple things that make you smile~

Well, I'm on vacation in Newport for the next couple days. The free wifi here is a bit slow, but at least it works. Only complaint is that my 3DS can't handle multiplayer stuff over this wifi.

I just got back from a Jeff Dunham show- he was funny as expected. :3 I just wish I could've bought myself a hat from one of the tents that said "I keel you!" on the back...not that I wear hats that often.

I just got back from visiting my Grandmother in New York City it's probably going to be the closest thing I'll have to a vacation this year.

At least I got to ride my bike along the Hudson River which was really fun.

My grandma brought me to an Italian Restaurant for my birthday and I had spicy bow tie pasta with sausage and peppers in a tomato sauce. It was super spicy but really good but I do fear my stomach lining will tear because it was so spicy.

Fun fact: I used to think "Thousand Island" was a brand name or product line of dressing, not an actual type (like ranch and Caesar) of it.

Now that I'm here, I've discovered that there is nothing, absolutely NOTHING to do at the Thousand Islands. My family and I have been sitting here for about half an hour trying to find something interesting. .-.

(also, one of the brochures advertised Niagara Falls. That's 5 hours away. ._.)

There have been a few visible in Maryland. Unfortunately there's way too much light pollution here to see ANYTHING. I can barely make out constellations every other night. Yet another reason for me to move to the empty desert when I get older.

My city is too bright, and I can't go out of town since I've got to head off to bed early...

Them 5am shifts don't do themselves...
And speaking of work... Everything broke...
Like everything. Pumps and registers, everything...
I did nothing for a whole eight hours, and when I left, it was still broken...
I wonder if it'll be broken again tomorrow...

I can't believe it but... I'm actually starting to get good at the bass guitar! What started off as a simple childish dream with silly inspirations has turned into a feasible reality. Hopefully I can work on synchronizing my singing and playing, I wanna be able to perform one day soon.

And then it's on to the next instrument! I'm thinking about the flute, the tuba, or the contradoubleuprightorchestra bass (One instrument, fifty names.) It's just so beautiful to play jazzy... and the SPIN. I'D BE SPINNING IT ALL DAY LONG~ Yay, more childish dreams~

Well, I've finally arrived at this really nice hotel in Longueuil, QC. Apparently Canada thought it would be a great idea to do construction on all of their roads at once. :L

It's... interesting to be in a place that natively speaks another language. Kind of a culture shock, really, even though I'm only a few hours from home.

It's raining this evening and it's kind of late, so touristy stuff is put off till tomorrow.

I've always wanted to travel somewhere like that. My mom said we were going to Canada some day soon, but I guess there weren't enough funds.

I can't believe that after this week I go back to school. Not because it's school and ugh school sucks (I'm really really looking forward to it) but I'll be a disgusting SENIOR. This is my last year and it's so awful that I'm gonna leave. I can't think about all the changes... I'M FALLING APART ON THE INSIDE. I guess it's time to start planning my insane graduation.

This, is what they call a "Smile Reward" Card.(Ignore the Pun.)
These are usually only handed out for doing a fantastic job and impressing a form of Management or the Higher Ups.
A basic one has 500 Points on it.

Embedded image
Now this is a scale of how much I have.
That Chikorita is roughly 1'' - 1'' 1/2 Inches high...
All of them are worth 500 Points.
There are 79 cards in that pile...

So what's a real world currency amount this would add up to...
I wouldn't know, I suck at math...
But for a scale...

Embedded image
These are the rewards I can get with the max points currently...
Some of the 39000+ rewards got cut off, but they were only kitchen ware and stuff like that...

... Am I doing good?

Moar updates! Today was the first day in Montréal proper and it was AWESOME. Most of the day consisted of eating (Montréal has lots of restaurants), figuring out how to get our Métro passes, and doing a bus tour through the city. We also did Laser Quest in this awesome five-story arena.

And the underground city. Oohhh, the underground city. It's absolutely massive, and gets up to five stories at some points, going one story above street level at its highest. Plus you can get to the Métro straight from it, so that's cool.

I wake up at the same time every day by using my phone as an alarm. Only because I composed my own alarm tone in 8-Bit. Being musical is so much fun~ If not I'd probably just rely on my mother to wake me up. I'm so dependent on her, I'm doomed when I go off to college...

Usually if I need to fix my sleeping schedule I just try staying awake the whole day and wait until night time to get it fixed. If I get too sleepy one day to stay awake, I try it again the next day, which is usually the case

My sleep schedule is normally wake up at 6:30 or 7:30 AM and sleep at around 2:30-3 AM. Danny Phantom comes on at 2 AM every single night so I go to sleep by watching that, since TV helps me sleep. Sure, I only get about 3-4 hours of sleep a day, but there's no harm in that~

My sleep schedule depends on when I work.
My most common shifts are Opening and Closing, both with very different times. Opening I sleep at 1am and wake by 5am. Closing I sleep by 3am and wake by 11am.
Anything in between is heresy. Or in other words, I sleep by 1am, wake up by 7am.

My sleep schedule has shifted as of late, mainly due to the fact that work is putting me through more morning shifts lately. Now no matter when I go to bed, I usually wake up around 8am, regardless of when I work, or even if I do work that day.

Fatigue from 3 weeks of band camp and other stressful worries hit me hard last night. I was just packing up my bass from a night of practice. It was about 1:07 AM and then everything went dark. I wake up later and it just so happens to be 4:47 AM. Not only was I completely confused, I COMPLETELY MISSED DANNY PHANTOM. I went back to sleep very angry...
