Bought a working commodore 64 computer at an estate sale for $10 the other day, no games for it but i might buy ultima IV off ebay ![]()
5 – Dragonite, Yoshi648, Eagles, Cat333Pokémon, Seiji J. KonokamaBoom! check this stuff out: (No Pics though)
I Bought some stuff off of Amazon and i'll be getting Final Fantasy Tactics A2 for Nintendo DS. (Which when it comes, i'll be a little inactive for a few days)
I also got one of those Mega Lot of 200 Yugioh cards (They came in yesterday) and i got like 90% of rare cards out of the 200, they are actully pretty good cards too.
2 – GreenMan, EaglesQuestion: Do borrowed games count for this? Because I feel like they offer the same purpose: a new experience to be shared with everyone else.
If so, then I recently was able to get The Last of Us from a friend of mine. Not very far, but it looks to be pretty good. I do love me a stealth game every now and then.
Goat Simulator
This is the best game ever. If you don't want it after watching some gameplay footage, something is wrong with your taste in gaming.
Also got a mechanical keyboard for my computer. I love the clickyness.
4 – GreenMan, Eagles, Seiji J. Konokama, BigN64Official, black, wired Xbox 360 controller- $5 Great for PC gaming. ![]()
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword complete- $10
Rayman 2: The Great Escape disc only for PS1- $1
Cruis'n World cart only for N64- $3
Cruis'n Exotica cart only for N64- $3
Gran Turismo 4 complete- $2
Final Fantasy X-2 for PS2 complete- $3
2 – Dragonite, EaglesDoesn't count as a video game purchase per se, but I laid hands on a prepaid Motorola Moto G Android phone by Verizon. I waited like an hour to get the number from my iPhone 4s transferred to the Motorola phone (which seemed like an eternity), but in the end, it was worth standing and tiring my heels over.
I was originally going to get a Samsung Galaxy Legend, but the Verizon Store I visited didn't have them, and that's how I ended up with the Moto G. In any case, I'm starting to like the Android community already.
At a yard sale yesterday, I got Crazy Taxi, Twisted Metal III, Halo 1, and a Mario comic book for $7.
3 – Yoshi648, Eagles, TurtwigX
1 – EaglesI bought Persona 4 (finally) at a local game shop. It was way overpriced, but with my gift card and coupon, it came out to be 5 bucks. So I'm happy for that price.
4 – Reuniclus, Eagles, Dragonite, JDxImpetusDid a little spring cleaning the other day, and traded in some stuff and got the following in exchange:
Super Mario 3D Land (3DS-complete)
Super Mario All-Stars (SNES)
Yoshi's Story (Japanese N64)
4 – Dragonite, Cat333Pokémon, Eagles, BigN64I got The Lost Levels from eshop. I'm not good at Mario games to begin with, I don't know what I was thinking.
2 – blueumbreon, Eagles|
It is, but I don't like the d-pad for the 3DS for some reason, it's too low on the side for my liking.

Tried the Demo for Conception 2: children of the seven stars.
...I don't know why it's M rated. It's no worse than Sailor Moon when the sailor scouts transform...
but the gameplay is really fun. It's from spike chunsoft (makers of the Pokémon mystery dungeon series) and Atlus (makes various anime based games).
2 – Yoshi648, Cat333PokémonThe Last of Us PS3 bundle [500GB PS3 and The Last of Us] - $240
Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD = $30
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD - $20
I find it odd that the bundled PS3 system was only $250 when a standalone 250GB PS3 sells for around $300-$350.
1 – EaglesI wanted to wait till it arrived before I posted this, but I finally got my mitts on a used copy of Pokemon Black 2. Despite having only a DS Lite, I really don't seem to be bothered by the fact that Nintendo plans to discontinue their WiFi Connection service for pre-3DS and pre-Wii U systems on the 20th.
Recently, I picked up Super Mario RPG FOR $40, an AGS-101 GBA SP for $20, MGS 1 for $5, Pilotwings for $5, and some cheap GBC games for $4. Pretty good, if ask me.
EDIT: Also picked up Kirby Triple Deluxe with some of the money I made selling extra games.
5 – Cat333Pokémon, Eagles, Dragonite, Seiji J. Konokama, Charizard98I recently paid off a pre-order of Mario Kart 8. I'm going to be selecting Wii Party U as my free game when the time comes. (If it weren't for my family wanting Wii Party U, I would have gotten Wind Waker HD. I already own New Super Mario U and Pikmin 3.)
3 – Dragonite, Yoshi648, EaglesOh yes, I paid off my pre-order for Mario Kart 8 last week. I'll be getting Pikmin 3 with mine.
2 – Eagles, isbraggEarthbound for Virtual Console so I have something to play on my Wii U until Mario Kart comes out. Also got something really cool/old/kinda obscure on eBay, it'll be showing up next week.
4 – TurtwigX, blueumbreon, Seiji J. Konokama, Eagles- Persona 2: Eternal Punishment
- Persona 4
- Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped
All on PSN
....Really Wishing Atlus would give us P2: Innocent Sin on PSN already...just saying Why have one without the other
but I have 2 Roughly 50-70 Hour RPG's To play...this is gonna be a gooood summer

This here is a 1982 GCE Vectrex. As you can see by the size of this monster, it's a game system and a built-in CRT TV. Besides being an all-in-one unit, it displays using basic vector graphics which while not as detailed as raster graphics used by most everything else, it provides a crisper picture and has smoother graphic movement (the most popular arcade example of this is the original Asteroids). To compensate for only displaying white graphics, plastic colorful screen overlays were included with games. Sadly the system died the next year thanks to the video game industry crash. Now though it has a pretty good cult following with many homebrew games still being released for it.
As for my setup here I got the system, a controller with a tight analog stick (very common to find them loose as the spring wears out), and 3 games (Bezerk, Hyperchase, and Star Trek but sadly no overlays) for $100 shipped. A working system with controller alone in very good condition can easily go for $200. Everything is going to need a massive cleaning (and someone decided to swap the circuit boards around in the cartridges) and it's missing the reset button, but other then that it works great.
9 – Cat333Pokémon, NismoZ, Eagles, blueumbreon, isbragg, Seiji J. Konokama, Dragonite, Twiggy, JDxImpetusFor $8 I bought a used multitap for my PS2 Slim, and Battletoads for NES.
I've always enjoyed Battletoads as a kid, and it's great to have it back in my possession. I tested the multitap on my PS2 Slim and it works, but it's filthy as heck. Maybe Sunday I'll get around to cleaning it.
*EDIT: 5-25-2014* Actually, I had some time Saturday to get the multitap cleaned. Went through about 5 cotton swabs wet with bleach to get the gunk out of the controller ports and the ridges made famous by the PS2 itself, but it looks tons better.
Man did I get ripped off on a video game purchase today...
No literally!
Rip Off for the Vectrex - Complete with manual and overlay for $25 (which is actually a pretty good price) from local retro game store.
It's worth it just for all the jokes you can make from it.

3 – Yoshi648, Ditto616, DragoniteIn actually very surprised I'm the first person to say this here, but I just got Mario Kart 8! This game feels unreal with the smoothness. And as my free game, I have chosen Pikmin 3.
1 – Yoshi648I also just picked up my copy of Mario Kart 8 (longest work day ever.....). I will getting Pikmin 3 when Club Nintendo will stop acting slow (can't imagine why).
Also got Lego City Undercover coming in the mail tomorrow ($23 shipped). Doubled my Wii U collection in one weekend!
1 – Ditto616With the combined earnings of Mario Kart 8 and Pikmin 3 I've downloaded Super Metroid from Club Nintendo just because. I have way too many coins, gotta use them before they expire.
1 – DragoniteFinally caved in and got a Vita.
Borderlands 2 Vita bundle: $199
Further proving that bundled systems are cheaper than stand-alone. Mainly got the Vita for Remote Play with my PS4, but the bonus game and memory card is a nice bonus.
2 – GreenMan, JDxImpetusI found an Atari Flashback, the 7800 model, for $10. Unfortunately, one of the controllers is completely busted, and the other is very stiff. Thankfully, I believe it works with the original Atari 2600 controllers, as well as the Sega Genesis controller.
2 – Dragonite, Seiji J. Konokama
1 – JDxImpetusI bought a Virtual Boy today for $60! Came in the box with the console, the stand, one controller, Tennis and Golf. I don't think I've got everything with it, but I feel like I picked this up at a good price.
5 – Reuniclus, Yoshi648, Cat333Pokémon, blueumbreon, Seiji J. KonokamaIt's the first day of the Steam Summer Sale and my spending is off to a decent start considering how often I usually buy games; I bought Dust: An Elysian Tale, Bully, and Double Dragon Neon for a grand total of $15.
edit: More games! I bought Final Fantasy VII, NiGHTS Into Dreams (both the Steam versions), Euro Truck Simulator 2 with the Going East! expansion, Monaco, and AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! for the Awesome for a total of $24... meaning I've just spent $39 on $127 worth of games.
Got myself a copy of MK8 today. Next step: get a Wii U.
(For those curious, the idea is for me to register it before the other Wii U Game Promotion thing is over; even if they weren't doing that thing, I'd be buying MK8 sooner or later anyway. And I was in the part of town with a GameStop today, so I figured there's no reason not to.)
Can you believe that I found both Pokemon White and White 2 for $10 ($5 for each cart)? And at the swap shop, even. ![]()
The previous owner(s) didn't even have much of a progress report, but still. I feel like somebody sent 120 volts AC through my body.
2 – Dragonite, JDxImpetusNot quite purchases because they were through Club Nintendo, but I got Kirby's Dream Land and Electroplankton Rec-Rec.
1 – Seiji J. Konokama*digs through GOG.com receipts, now that the sale is over*
Myst V and URU: Complete Chronicles
Alan Wake's American Nightmare (freebie)
SteamWorld: Dig (I've wanted to play this one for some time)
Far Cry 1 and 2
Capitalism 1 and 2
Same & Max: The Devil's Playhouse, Beyond Time & Space, and Save the World
Magrunner: Dark Pulse (gift, freebie)
All for only about $30 (and no silly always-on DRM or client for single-player "subscriptions")
1 – TwiggyGot this for free today
I lied, I actually got 15 of them
If you haven't figured it out, yes these are just empty boxes. Looks like 2K Games upstairs from my workplace got some new hardware and I took the packaging.
What is Yoshi going to do with 15 empty Xbox One boxes you ask? Who knows, but I can sell them online for like $10-20 each.Would be great for pranking people also.
5 – Dragonite, Cat333Pokémon, Twiggy, Ditto616, Charizard98So... This is a little embarrassing but...
I lost my Pokémon X so I went into town to get another Gen 6 game. Was planning on getting Y just in case I found my X, but I found a copy at my local Goodwill store for $20. I just couldn't pass it up. Now that I've bought it, I'm sure to find the one I lost.
1 – Seiji J. KonokamaI put $20 on the Humble 2K Bundle.
What's in it? BioShock, The Darkness II, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, BioShock 2, Mafia II, Spec Ops: The Line, X-COM Complete Pack (which contains: Apocalypse, Enforcer, Interceptor, Terror From the Deep and UFO Defense), BioShock Infinite and XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
This is why I'm a PC gamer
2 – Dragonite, GreenManYou might have heard about it in my Ramblings thread, but for $5 at a garage sale, I did just recently acquire an old flatbed scanner for my pre-USB ThinkPad. Despite being filthy as heck, the scanner seems to function normally with a color resolution of a whopping 200 dots per inch.
For $0.25 more, I also managed to pick up the cassette version of Opera Sauvage, a 1979 album by Vangelis, the musical genius behind Chariots of Fire and Blade Runner. Opera Sauvage is now officially the oldest cassette I own. o.o
Edit: Actually, I lied about the dpi on the scanner... It appears that it can scan up to 600 dpi rather than 200.
2 – Dragonite, Cat333Pokémon
5 – Seiji J. Konokama, Cat333Pokémon, Yoshi648, TurtwigX, MattyBrollic
1 – TreesI bought Dark Souls II. The things they say are true. I'm gonna have to learn a lot of stuff...
2 – CinnabarPyro, Charizard98Sold a lot of un-used stuff from my collection recently, so obviously I need more stuff to fill that space. These are all from the last two weeks:
Spike (Vectrex) with manual and overlay - $20 shipped off eBay
Scramble (Vectrex) with overlay - $25 shipped off eBay
Paper Mario Thousand Year Door official strategy guide -$10 shipped of eBay
Wii U Pro Controller - $35 shipped from BestBuy (which decided to do the "spend the extra $3 on some small stupid item to get free shipping but then ship out the items in different packages" game)
Also bought some actual arcade buttons and joystick for a project. I'll give you a hint, it involves the system for the first two games on that above list.
1 – Cat333PokémonI picked up EcoFluxx (anyone who has played Fluxx will know how crazy this card game is), a few dice, and Wii Music, mostly to see how stupid it is.
I also snagged some random items from Yoshi's collection, including Super Mario Bros. 2, Tetris Attack, a Yoshi's Island strategy guide, Mario Party 3, and some empty game cases.
I picked up a Logitech TrackMan Marble trackball for $1, and these four cassettes for $0.25 each:
- Joe Satriani - Not of This Earth (1986)
- The Essential Whitesnake (2000)
- Huey Lewis and The News - Fore (1986)
- REO Speedwagon - The Second Decade of Rock and Roll (1991)
I literally just got back from the resale store from which I bought all this stuff, and thus I have yet to find time to test them. ![]()
The trackball is USB AND PS/2 compatible, meaning it will work not only on my iBook and Lenovo, but my ThinkPad as well. I bought it due to space constraints on the computer desk on which my ThinkPad and Visioneer scanner are set up.
1 – Cat333PokémonThere's a big Atlus sale going on now in e-shop, so I just had to buy one of the games.
I got Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked for $14.99 (originally $29.99)
1 – Dragonite|
Let us know what you think of Wii Music when you get around to that. I remember seeing a trailer for it and thinking "this looks kind of lame, even for a company that thought the Mario & Sonic thing was a good idea."
|
1 – DragonitePicked up this thing called "Last Dream" on Steam for 4 dollars. As if I don't have enough games to be playing atm, but I played the demo once, recall liking it and thought I'd give the full game a shot.
I have to say, Steam may be about as neat as my bedroom, but the amount of game you can buy for next to nothing is kind of amazing.
Got Clean Sweep for the Vectrex (with overlay and box) for $20 shipped off eBay. Also ordered a SCART cable for my DreamCast so I can use it on my RGB monitor.
1 – TreesHey guys, I just went on one of those things I don't do. What are they called... shopping sprees? Oh yeah...
So I got Oracle of Ages, Oracle of Seasons, Shantae, Link's Awakening DX, Mega Man V (GB), Sonic Advance 3, Pokémon Pinball, and I had Pokémon Yellow and Donkey Kong Country GBC gifted to me.
THAT WAS FUN
EDIT: Just realized I had extra money so I bought Metroid II: The Return of Samus
EDIT 2: I replaced Super Mario Bros. DX on my list (so nostalgia blinded) with The Lost Levels, and then I bought that.
5 – Reuniclus, Dragonite, Cat333Pokémon, Seiji J. Konokama, Ditto616General Electric pocket AM/FM radio: $2
Two cassettes: 25¢ each
1980's technology: priceless
The two cassettes I bought were:
- The Joshua Tree by U2
- Purple Rain by Prince. Probably one of the only albums I'd care to listen to by Prince.
2 – Cat333Pokémon, DragonitePre-ordered Alpha Sapphire today. And forgot to get the mega stone code. Oops.
Also added this thing to my arsenal. Now I can actually play half of the games in my Steam library and the GameCube games I ripped without any idea how I was going to use them!
2 – Seiji J. Konokama, NismoZ
3 – Dragonite, Cat333Pokémon, Seiji J. KonokamaI have an Nvidia SHIELD tablet on order from Nvidia. It should be here on or around the 1st of October. I'm excited for it.
1 – Seiji J. KonokamaAs of now, there is a limit of 100 posts per page.
