New Super Mario Bros. U just came in today and to celebrate I downloaded the New Super Luigi U DLC~! NSMBU is amazing and everything, but NSLU? Man that jump is fiiiiiiiine~<3
I really need to stop buying things now.
2 – Eagles, blueumbreon
2 – Eagles, Seiji J. KonokamaA couple days ago,I traded something for Fallout 3 (PS3). It's pretty good. I like it so far. Also, a third party Wii U pro controller I ordered arrived. I've also been enjoying that. It works fantastically for Megaman X.
1 – EaglesGot a "broken un-tested" Sega Master system and 4 Genesis controllers for free (plus $10 shipping) that arrived in the mail today. Here's what I took out of the box:
OH ARCEUS! Looks like it got eaten by a hungry Snorlax.
Luckily it uses the same hookups as the original Genesis so I plugged it in...
.
IT'S ALIVE! This is straight out of the box, no cleaning or repairs or anything done to it yet.
Reason 3574320 retro gaming is awesome: You can throw game systems at a bear, and they will still work. Try finding an Xbox 360 of that cosmetic shape but still functional.
7 – Ditto616, Eagles, Twiggy, NismoZ, SpikyEaredPichu96, PureAurorae, Cat333PokémonLet's see...
Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics for free from GOG.
In addition, I also got Divinity: Dragon Commander Imperial Edition and SimCity 2000 Special Edition from GOG, too, but this time it cost... what, $25.48 for all of them? Sometimes you do get unexpected discounts...
Too bad GOG is hammered right now.
I also got Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics from GOG.
Though not technically purchases, for my birthday, I got a copy of Hyrule Historia, $20 PS Store giftcard, $25 Amazon giftcard, some anime magazines, a new pair of Converse, and (not confirmed) a bass and an amp.
1 – EaglesGah, stop logging me out, GOG.com! *finally claims all three*
Edit: I get the feeling they're going to be getting a bit of my money over their holiday sale.
Edit 2: Aw crap, the RCT trilogy is on sale.
Edit 3: *tries desperately to give them money*
Edit 4: Bought RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum.
(I already own RCT 2: Triple Thrill Pack.)
1 – EaglesTime for another episode of Wacky Items Yoshi Bought That You've Probably Never Heard Of:
This is a Nintendo 64 Hori Mini controller. This controller was only released in Japan by Hori, who is known to make very good Nintendo accessories. As my low-light pictures show, it's a bit smaller then the standard N64 controller and looks very much like the GameCube controller. Since the controller itself is smaller, the buttons are more cramped together, D-pad was relocated to the bottom, and the Z trigger on the back was made into a 2nd set of shoulder buttons. That being said though, it's a really nice controller. Buttons are nice and responsive, analog stick is great (it's almost exactly like the kind found on the GameCube controller, great for 3D platformers and Mario Party mini-game madness). It takes a little time to get used to, but it feels nice to hold and works great. If you play a lot of N64 games you should consider getting one of these, though be warned since they were only released in Japan it can get a bit pricey ($60-80 on eBay, I got mine for $40 shipped from one of the gaming forums I visit). A more detailed review can be read here.
4 – blueumbreon, Cat333Pokémon, Eagles, TwiggyGot an Azurite blue PS3 today for Xmas that came with a free controller AND a free copy of the Jak and Daxter collection. I'm hoping I can get Ni No Kuni, since I saw it for like 10 bucks somewhere. Also, I need to get Shadow of the Collossus from PS+, here's hoping it's still available on xmas.
2 – blueumbreon, Charizard98I walked into a local game store hoping to buy Klonoa... instead, I walked away with Sonic Generations (Xbox 360, $14) and Tomb Raider II (PS1, $7).
3 – Eagles, TurtwigX, Charizard98I was originally going to buy Fallout from Good Old Games, but when I got to the page last Friday, I saw it was part of a giveaway, with Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics included. About $30 were saved, out the door.
2 – Twiggy, Cat333PokémonI got Jet Grind Radio and FFAnthology (IV and Chrono Trigger) for $15 each. Can't wait to play them
3 – JDxImpetus, Eagles, NismoZGot an original Nintendo DS (and I ain't talking about the gray thing released in 2004)
A 1988 Safe Buster Nintendo Game & Watch. $33 shipped off eBay (well will be $40 total after my aftermarket battery cover arrives to replace my custom LEGO plate + packaging tape solution). A good deal, this is like a $75+ system (and in excellent condition to boot).
Funny story about this. Many years ago (like 10-12) my sister used to actually have one of these (exact game) that was given to her. She eventually got rid of it, and I didn't claim it (this was when I was much younger and before I got into video game collecting, as far as I was concerned it was just a cheap $1 store type game). Of course now as a collector I'm still kicking myself for letting that go, though at least now I got a nice replacement.
5 – Cat333Pokémon, GreenMan, Eagles, Seiji J. Konokama, Twiggy
4 – TurtwigX, blueumbreon, Charizard98, Seiji J. KonokamaI splurged on old games with Christmas money. I got...
Mega Man 8 (PS1)
Mega Man X4 (PS1)
Mega Man X5 (PS1)
Ghost in the Shell (PS1)
Comix Zone (Genesis)
...For a total of about $70 shipped ($4 shipping for each one, that's ridiculous!). I took $20 off of that with a gift cars, so I pretty much negated shipping costs.
edit: More games, this time off of Steam.
The Sonic Hits collection, including a ton of Sonic games new and old (way too many to list, and I already have a few of them on various consoles, but oh well)
Jet Set Radio HD (I was on a bit of a Sega trip when I started shopping)
WRC 4 FIA World Rally Championship
Magical Drop V
...For a total of $47. It's only been a day and I've already spent $100 of my Christmas money on video games. ._.
3 – Seiji J. Konokama, Eagles, PureAuroraeA friend got me Dust : The Elysian Tail on the steam sale.
Absolutley loving this game so far!
2 – Ditto616, Seiji J. Konokama
1 – EaglesSuper Mario 3D Land
Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask
and
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
2 – blueumbreon, Eagles3DS
Pokemon X and Y
Fire Emblem Awakening
Animal Crossing for 3DS
I'm so excited! ![]()
4 – Cat333Pokémon, GreenMan, Reuniclus, EaglesTraded in a few unneeded Super NES sports games and an old Windows 98 trackball mouse... for a more updated optical 5-button mouse, which seems to match my laptop's style better than the tilt-wheel optical mouse I have been using. The tilt-wheel mouse will now be used with my older PCs.
I also traded in two of my Game Boy Color games for Pokemon Trading Card Game, a hybrid monochrome/color Game Boy cartridge. Although the game works fine, I question the backup battery's condition and I will check it out later.
EDIT: Turns out that the mouse I've recently acquired does in fact have a tilt wheel. Epic!
1 – EaglesBought Fallout 3 for $6 and the guy let me have the guide that went with it for free.
Was gonna get both and figured on it being $25 bucks, but hey got the game, its case, its manual and the guide for $6
1 – EaglesHere are the newest additions to my collection from this month:
1 – EaglesI recently bought Soulsilver and Black 2 (because I lost that, including the many legendaries that were on it...) for a total of $65.
Then I found an epic brand new in-the-package Wavebird controller (which I've wanted for years and years) for $40.
2 – Eagles, blueumbreonFrom eBay I got Mario Picross 2 (Japan only release) for GameBoy for $10 shipped.
Then at a garage sale this morning I found this for $3:
Original GameBoy (with battery cover), link cable (still in original wrapper), Super Mario Land (in place of Tetris), manuals, and a box that looks like a animal and/or small child ate the bottom corner of. Mario Land I'm definitely keeping since I don't have it yet, still debating if I want to sell the rest to put forward to replacing my PS3 since I already have a boxed GameBoy (later release box).
Ah the 80s/90s when "Powerful CPU and micro-processors" were buzz-words on every electronic device.
5 – TurtwigX, Ditto616, Seiji J. Konokama, Eagles, Cat333PokémonI got a PS1 analog controller for $7 the other day.
The store also had a Model 3 Genesis in stock for $40 which I stared at for a while, but I didn't buy it.
1 – EaglesFinally combined my gift cards to get A Link Between Worlds. HAHA, HAPPY VACATION TO ME!! With just enough left over to get 2 bags of Bugles.
2 – Eagles, blueumbreonJust got the WHOLE HG/SS soundtrack off iTunes(yes, including the retro songs~) so now I can listen to the surf theme and just melt in happiness ON THE GO~! Along with this I got some Beatles songs such as "Something", "Good Day Sunshine", "Oh! Darling", "The Ballad of John and Yoko", "All Those Years Ago" (off George's solo career), "For No One", "(Just Like) Starting Over"(John's solo career), and my current favorite song, "Octopus' Garden". And since when I'm on shopping sprees I just can't stop I got Nano Assault Neo for the Wii U(there's another game for the list, Turt.

1 – EaglesI must be some kind of magic man, I guess.
And good choice, indeed. I love the way All Those Years Ago sounds, it's got that shaky sound in a way, kind of like the shaky that you get when you remember a distant memory filled with nostalgia. And the surf theme is just a personal nostalgia trip and I'm pretty sure it'll always will be. I might even consider it my personal theme song eventually~
Traded in some gaming stuff in exchange for my 2nd Game and Watch system - Mario's Cement Factory.
1 – Seiji J. KonokamaWario Land II (GBC), Wario Land 4 (GBA), Enduro (2600), Cruis'n World (N64), Mario Pinball Land (GBA), and about a dozen universal game cases (including inserts) for $20
1 – Seiji J. KonokamaEVERYBODY WITH A WII U/3DS: MH3U IS ON SALE FOR ONLY 20 DOLLARS ON THE ESHOP, THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY YOU MUSTN'T MISS
I think I have a problem...
And yes, I did buy it today with the sale. This is more than likely going to be the start of a very unhealthy addiction for hunting monsters.
2 – TurtwigX, Ditto616Well, this isn't really a purchase, but I got Ib for my computer. I've only played it for 10 minutes and I'm already scared.
2 – Eagles, JDxImpetusBought this exact Game Boy Advance for $15:

1 – EaglesMy parents snagged Melee, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness at a thrift shop in Hawaii for me. They were $5 each. At a Salvation Army, I got a PS1 with all cables, an OEM controller, and Crash Team Racing for $10 (everything works just fine). At a localish game store, I got Ni No Kuni (white label, $20), Gex: Enter the Gecko (cheap...?) and Lost: Via Domus (for my sister
, $7). I'll be busy for a while.
6 – Eagles, Cat333Pokémon, TurtwigX, NismoZ, Seiji J. Konokama, NytzCounting all the purchases I've made as of late:
Dark Souls for PS3 - $20
(Soon to be delivered through Amazon to home)
Wii Mini Bundled with Mario Kart Wii - $100
Tatsunoko vs Capcom for Wii - $20
Tatsunoko vs Capcom Arcade Stick - $50
Chances are, I'm probably going to be extremely busy on TvC when I the chance to play as Frank West again.
2 – blueumbreon, EaglesI ordered Bravely Default through ebay, it should be coming in the college mail either tomorrow or Tuesday.
4 – Cat333Pokémon, GreenMan, Eagles, DragoniteMost recent purchase in terms of video games: Soul Calibur 5.
sad part is, I only bought it so that I can create 3D models of my Original characters using the creation mode.... XD
1 – TurtwigXI got Bravely Deafault. I really like it so far.
17/2/14
I got Punch-Out!! (Wii) at GameStop for $20. Very fun and enjoyable game, would recommend.
1 – EaglesOrdered Disney's Wreck-It Ralph on DVD. How fitting it will be to watch a video game related movie... on a video game console (my PS2, the only standalone DVD player I own). ![]()
2 – TurtwigX, Cat333PokémonI bought Final Fantasy III (SNES) at a flea market for $35 today. I haven't started it yet, but I can't wait to do so.
2 – Eagles, Seiji J. KonokamaSaints Row IV for $15.99 from the Humble Store. *now needs to find a bandwidth sink*
1 – blueumbreonI am way too happy about finally getting my tri-wing screwdriver in the mail today.
Anyway, I can finally fix my DS and maybe replace the battery in my Ruby.
1 – Seiji J. KonokamaNot a purchase (haven't posted in a while because paying for a LEGO project), but a very random find.
2K Games has an office within the office building I work in. I went to take out some garbage today, and found these sitting on top of the recyclables dumpster:
These are 2 sets of boxes and manuals for the Xbox 360 development hardware Sidecar. From what I've read, the Sidecar is an attachment that plugs into the harddrive slot and functions as a DVD emulator (so as games are revised, they can download the game data and run it off this instead of constantly having to burn disks to test the games).
Yeah just box and paper isn't really exciting on its own, but I thought it was pretty cool. Luckily I was able to save these before the rain started coming down.
8 – GreenMan, Eagles, Twiggy, Seiji J. Konokama, Cat333Pokémon, Charizard98, BluFire1337, DragoniteFound a wireless mouse for $10 at Big Lots... and because I'm a member of their discount program, they took 20% off, so I only paid $8.50 for it, including Ohio sales tax. I'll still hang onto the wired mouse I found earlier in case, God forbid, something goes wrong with the wireless.
Was at a flea market today and picked up a cartridge of Pokemon Pinball and a japanese glaceon card. Might go back next weekend and pay $60 for a SNES a man was selling, assuming he still has it by then.
3 – Eagles, Seiji J. Konokama, blueumbreon
5 – blueumbreon, Cat333Pokémon, Cyrus, Eagles, BluFire1337
2 – TurtwigX, BluFire1337I don't know if you could call it a purchase, but I bought Punch Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream off of Club Nintendo for my Wii U. It was 200 points, so it wasn't so bad. I've always wanted to play the game, but I never got around to it. Now I have the chance! ![]()
1 – EaglesJust ordered a USB cable for charging Gameboy Advance SPs. Should arrive in a couple business days. I will finally be able to play my Pokemon Crystal cartridge again!
3 – Reuniclus, Eagles, Seiji J. KonokamaDark Souls 2 - Collector's Edition (I know I've mentioned the series a lot and this is probably going to be the last time I ever mention it here since it's going to occupy me for a long time, but the pre order bonuses you get with the game are super sweet!!!)
1 – EaglesRemember those Sony monitors I got half a year ago? Well....
I found the 20" model!
This is a Sony Trinitron PVM-20N6U. As stated in the original post, these Sony Trinitron broadcast monitors with the right cables are the best possible picture for old video games.
Cool story bro time: While I love my 14" one, I've been wanting to upgrade to a 20" one (largest screen size you can get before the image starts getting distorted again). Of course I thought this will be a while since they aren't the most common thing to find, and good luck buying online since shipping will be a fortune. When I got home from work, I went to one of the video game collecting forums I visit. I couldn't help but notice on the side bar where it shows latest random messages from members, one message said "Anyone in Vegas looking for a Sony Trinitron studio monitor? There is a sweet PVM-20 in great cosmetic shape for $49 at the *Goodwill 30 minutes from my house*". It's 6:30PM on a Thursday, I got a quarter of a tank of gas, and there is a thrift store half an hour away that may or may not have an old CRT monitor according to some random person on the internet.....hit it. I was very happy to find it still there (of course no one wants CRT TVs anymore) in excellent condition (and even came with the original manuals). Next question is will that wire frame shelf cart hold this 62lb beast.
3 – Eagles, Cat333Pokémon, Seiji J. KonokamaI got a new SD Card for my 3DS and Yoshi's New Island from Target today.
Expect a review soon.
1 – EaglesI finally found an estate sale containing thing that appealed to me.
I got another SNES w/cables ($24, no yellowing), a Super Advantage ($15), and OEM N64 controller ($6), a .hack Quarantine [part 4] demo disc ($2.50, sealed), a GameStop A/V switch that may or may not work ($6), and a Super Smash 64 guide for $.70.
I think I finally made out well.

2 – blueumbreon, EaglesJust got Yoshi's New Island. I still love how a Yoshi game was released on my birthday.
Interestingly though, despite the fact I got this from GameStop almost 8 hours after they opened, this was the first copy of the game they sold.
Oh also got an Xbox 360 - wireless USB adapter for my computer for $10 shipped off eBay.
2 – TurtwigX, Eagles
1 – EaglesPicked up Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for $30. I also got the Stick of Truth when it came out. I have something new to play!
3 – blueumbreon, Seiji J. Konokama, Charizard98I just downloaded Pokemon Battle Trozei off of eshop! It's around $8- I'm about to start playing it right now.
4 – Ditto616, Cat333Pokémon, Eagles, Charizard98Picked up Bioshock infinite plus its season pass off steam. Loved the game so getting my second version of it. I will pick up the other two once we hit a larger sale.

In the Luck of the Irish GOG.com sale, I picked up these five games for $13 (a savings of $76):
1 – Dragonite
A Yoshi 3DS XL (big surprise). I've been considering upgrading to the XL model since I love the larger screens, and between the Yoshi edition and free Pokemon game figured now would be the time to strike. New for $180 shipped off Amazon and got a free download code for Pokemon Y. Already did a system transfer from my regular 3DS so all my goodies are now here as my new main system.
6 – Nytz, Eagles, Charizard98, Cat333Pokémon, Ditto616, BigN64Downloaded Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze.
So nostalgic.... and Apparently music composer David Wise (the composer of Donkey Kong County 2: Diddy Kong's quest) made the music for this one. that man is a legend. I'll always love Stickerbrush Symphony.
2 – Charizard98, EaglesCursed Mountain (Wii) for a whooping $6.80 - I was looking for a cheapie Wii game at Gamestop and happened to stumble upon this interesting game. Playing this game is like reading a horror novel, nice, fresh, and exciting. A true page turner. In terms of gameplay, I thought it was going to be an RE4 clone, but this simply is not the case. There's always an interesting event happening. And the atmosphere is by far some of the very best I've seen on the Wii, right next to the Mario Galaxy games. An interesting game worth being checked by any Wii fan, both casual and hardcore. Just be wary of the slow start.
1 – Eagles- Blazblue: Chronophantasma.
Joke is that Gamestop never had it in stock, so they're delivering it to my house
49.99 with $11 Shipping....
Welp it was worth it....sucks I couldn't get the Limited Edition that came with a Nendroid of one of the characters...really wanted that nendroid .w.
2 – Eagles, DragoniteFinally picked up Pokémon Trozei. Holy crap, that game is addicting. I'm about halfway through Zone 5 in about an hour and a half of playing, is that good?
3 – Cat333Pokémon, Eagles, Charizard98awww yiss
I just ordered South Park: The Stick of Truth (PS3) for $42.99 from Amazon. If you're interested in the game, but didn't want to pay 60 bucks, today is your day.
1 – EaglesAs of now, there is a limit of 100 posts per page.
