Technique 1: An easy way to create dream-like synth pads.
Basically, all you do is feed a string synth VST into a phaser effect VST, using whichever mixer bus you wish, not just the Master bus. From there, you can tweak the plugins to your liking. In this example, I'm using AlgoMusic's StringSynth, which is a freeware string synthesizer VST, as well as Fruity Phaser.
