Knit Things

Things I've knit

Well, this is the "prototype" of my Baby Minecraft Creeper. For those who don't know, in Minecraft, the baby animals have the same sized head as the adults, but the body is only half as big, giving them an almost chibi-like look. So I took those measurements and applied them to the creeper.

I will make a few changes to the next one I make; when I put the foam in, I found out that the head and feet were both a couple of rows (not quite half an inch) too tall. I put some toy stuffing on the top so it would even out a little more, but as you can see, that makes the parts look more rounded. So next time, I'll just cut out one of the two-row repeats. I also have a solid-colored yarn to knit him in as well, though now that I have this little guy finished, I kind of like the way the variegated yarn looks. I dunno, we'll have to see.

And also, I think I'll have to either put a piece of black paper over my lapdesk when I use it for pictures next time, or just find something else black that isn't glossy; this is the first time using it at this angle to the light, and so I never realized how much it reflects the light. X3

This one requires a bit of backstory. The "Teen Library Council" that I go to was wanting to make t-shirts for this year, and possibly for others as well. We were trying to figure out some sort of design we could use that could still be used in the years to come, and after brainstorming for a while (which was rarely ever more than shouting out somewhat random ideas), we came up with a Chubby Bunny (because the game "Chubby Bunny" is the favorite game of one of our council members), sitting on a book, and holding a marshmallow. We were then all asked to draw our own interpretations of this (though I'm not sure how many of us actually did) so the librarians who helped with TLC could pick one for the back of the shirt.
After drawing my interpretation (the drawing on the left), I knew that I would have to knit one. And so I did.

I've actually had everything but the arms made up for a while, I just finished the arms recently. If I were to make him again, I might make him just a little shorter.
The ribbon was something I put on him for the last TLC meeting before summer (when he was still armless), and just ended up leaving on him.Hermione's everyday socks: http://dreamsinfiber.blogspot.com/2009/07/hermoines-everyday-socks-free-pattern.html#links

My first pair of socks~! I'm so excited to get them done. The color is a bit darker the photo makes them look; I don't take very good pictures. x3Knitted Lunchbag, post-felted: http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter06/PATTbrownbag.html

This was the first "big" Felting project I've done so far. I'm really happy with how it came out; the size is almost spot on, which is great, since the bag was about 2 inches small all the way around. Guess it goes to show you how much felting projects can vary. x3Knitted Lunchbag; pre-felt: http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter06/PATTbrownbag.htmlKnit Joltik

I think I sewed the head on a little too high up on the body, but other than that, I think it came out okay.Joltik Side ViewJoltik Overhead viewJoltik Front ViewSideways View of Knit Chibi

Just a sideways view of the Chibi. Also shows you the eyelashes I embroidered on, which are nearly impossible to see in the other pictures.Knit Chibi with Clothes

I think the clothes came out rather well. I had to make a drawstring for the pants, but other than that, they came out perfectly.Knit Berry TrioKnit Oran Berry

The light blue thing on top came out too big, but that was as small as I could get it.Knit Cheri Berry

I think the colors on this one came out too Christmas-y (The Green yarn is a slightly lighter color in reality), but it was as close as I could get it.Knit Aspear Berry

Well, I think I got the color of the markings wrong, but other than that, it didn't come out too badly.Knit Chocolate Chip Cookie

I think this came out rather well, and it didn't take too long to make. I'm tempted to make another one and make an Ice Cream Sandwich.Knit Chibi

Well, other than the fact that her hair is thick enough to sleep on, I don't think it came out too badly. I'm going to make her a sweater and pants sometime soon.Bite-Free Bed Bugs

I got the pattern for this in a book I got for Christmas called "Knitting MochiMochi".Knit Spoink (No Tail)Wrapped CandyJumbo Candy CornWoodins
